FOUND HOTEL CARLTON, NOB HILL, San Francisco

The hotel is in the city centre, just south of Nob Hill, placing it within easy reach of the Financial District, Civic Center, and many attractions. Moscone Center is 2 km away and Ghirardelli Square is 3 km. Powell Street BART station is a 15-20 minute walk, and bus stops on Polk Street provide direct routes to the airport. The immediate area is well served by cafés, bars, and restaurants within 0.5 km. The neighbourhood borders the Tenderloin district, so evening walks south or towards Civic Center are less recommended; using rideshares or walking north via Nob Hill is the safer route. For car travel, several parking garages are within a short walk, with the 24-hour facility at 840 Sutter Street being the most practical.

The hotel provides rooms with either a queen bed or two double beds. Double beds are noted as narrower than standard, which may feel cramped for two adults. Each room includes a private bathroom with a bath or shower, hairdryer, and free toiletries. A refrigerator, flat-screen TV with Roku, ironing board, and wardrobe or walk-in closet are standard. City views and good natural light are common, especially on higher floors (7th-9th). Noise insulation is minimal: street-facing rooms hear traffic and sirens, internal rooms pick up hallway and neighbouring-room sounds, and interconnecting doors transmit conversation clearly. The building has no air conditioning, only heating; opening windows is the only cooling option, which increases noise. Housekeeping needs to be requested at the front desk. Rooms are described as clean and modern, with adequate space for the price, though some common areas appear older.

The hotel does not serve breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and has no bar or restaurant. The lobby offers a complimentary coffee and hot drink machine available around the clock, along with a water dispenser and ice machine. A microwave is also available in the lobby. For proper meals, the surrounding streets have numerous cafés, bakeries, and restaurants within a 5-minute walk, including Le Marais Bakery, Aria Korean American Snack Bar, and Fly Bar & Restaurant. Several of these open early for breakfast and continue through lunch and dinner, making it easy to eat out. Room service is not available.

Internet access is provided free of charge in all rooms, and is reliable for general use. The 24-hour reception can assist with express check-in and check-out. Luggage storage is free and available on both arrival and departure days for same-day use; longer-term storage is not possible. Parcels can be delivered and held for guests. A 24-hour coffee and hot drink machine, water cooler, ice machine, and microwave are in the lobby. Smoke-free policy applies throughout the property. Pets are not allowed. The hotel accepts major credit cards (American Express, Visa, Discover, MasterCard) and debit cards for the deposit. A refundable security deposit is required at check-in. The building has two elevators.
