HOTEL GALLERIA, Venice

Hotel Galleria sits on the Grand Canal next to the Accademia Bridge, placing most major sights within easy walking distance. The Accademia vaporetto stop is 15 metres from the entrance, providing direct water-bus connection to the train station and airport via public water taxi. The location in Dorsoduro offers a more relaxed, local atmosphere away from the heaviest crowds, while still being central enough for short walks to St. Mark's Square, the Rialto Bridge and the Zattere waterfront. Guests arriving from the airport can use a private water taxi (approximately 35 minutes, around €140) or buy a vaporetto pass at the airport for a shared taxi that takes about 1 hour. A seven-day vaporetto pass is useful for unlimited trips throughout the stay.

The hotel does not serve breakfast, but each room includes a hot-water pot with tea and coffee, so guests can prepare a hot drink in-room. A small supermarket right next door makes self-catering easy. The Dorsoduro area is packed with dining options within a 3-minute walk: Bar da Gino for a quick coffee or pastry with locals, and several restaurants such as Ai Cugnai Dal 1911, Ristorante San Trovaso and Beccafico Bar & Snack serve lunch and dinner. For a fuller meal, many cafés and cicchetti bars line the nearby canals. The hotel owners are known to provide restaurant recommendations.

Wi-Fi is available free of charge in all areas, including rooms and public spaces. Luggage storage is offered at no charge after check-out until 5 p.m., which is useful for a final day exploring without baggage. A safety deposit box is available free of charge. The hotel has a shared lounge/TV area for relaxing. A concierge service is on hand to help with recommendations, and fax/photocopying is available free of charge. Payment can be made by Visa, Carte Bleue, Maestro, CartaSi or MasterCard. The building has no lift, which may affect mobility.
