HAMPTON INN MONTREAL DOWNTOWN, QC, Montreal

The hotel sits at the intersection of Saint Laurent and Viger streets, placing it within a 5-minute walk of the Convention Centre and a 15-minute walk to Notre-Dame Basilica. The Old Port is 1 km away, and Clock Tower Beach is an 18-minute stroll. Place d'Armes metro station and several bus lines are directly accessible, making car-free exploration of the city straightforward. The immediate neighbourhood is packed with Asian restaurants (Pho Bac 97, Qing Hua dumpling, Tomasan Ramen) and bars, though the area around the hotel can feel energetic late at night due to bar crowds and the nearby homeless shelter. A bike trail connects directly from Viger Street, and underground parking provides a secure option for those driving.

Breakfast is included for all guests and features a continental buffet with fresh pastries, as well as hot items like waffles, omelets, sausages, and bacon. The buffet operates from 07:00 to 10:00 daily. While the variety and freshness are appreciated by many, the breakfast area can become extremely crowded during peak hours, especially on weekends, with limited seating and occasional delays in replenishing food, plates, and cutlery. For a quieter experience, arriving at 07:00 is recommended. The on-site Italian restaurant, Tiramisu, serves American cuisine with an outdoor seating area and is family-friendly. Several Asian restaurants are located within a 5-minute walk on Chinatown's main strip.

The outdoor pool is a heated rooftop pool with a view, open daily from 09:00 to 21:00, and is available only for registered hotel guests with a room key. Pool and beach towels, sun loungers, and chairs are provided. The hot tub, also on the roof, is often used but may sometimes be closed for maintenance. The second terrace offers an outdoor fireplace and seating, popular for evening relaxation. The fitness centre is a well-maintained gym with modern equipment, accessible to all guests. The pool and hot tub are open until the end of September, weather permitting, and seasonal availability should be confirmed before booking for late fall.

WiFi is free throughout the property. The reception desk operates 24/7, offering express check-in/out, private check-in, and luggage storage (available for both early arrivals and late departures). The business centre provides meeting/banquet facilities at an additional charge. Parking includes a gated underground garage (clearance 6'8") with accessible parking spots and an electric vehicle charging station; the cost is $32 per day. Pets are welcome for a $75 fee. The hotel is wheelchair accessible with lift access. Daily housekeeping is automatically provided, with a clean stay protocol; additional services like dry cleaning are available for a fee. Laundry facilities using loonies are found on the 2nd and 4th floors. A minimarket on site sells snacks and essentials, and vending machines dispense drinks and snacks.
