CLARION POINTE CHARLESTON - WEST ASHLEY, Charleston

The hotel sits off I-526 and Hwy 17, placing it 13 km from both downtown Charleston and Magnolia Plantation. Sullivan's Island beaches are 25 km away, Citadel Mall is a 6-minute drive, and Charleston International Airport is 14 km from the property. The immediate area provides access to shopping and freeways; restaurants are a short drive away. The location is practical for car travellers, but the surrounding streets can be confusing to navigate on first arrival.

Breakfast is continental and self-service: waffles, cereal, bread, oatmeal, coffee, and juice. Hot items such as eggs or meat are not included, and the selection has been limited at times, with shortages of bowls, syrup, or fruit occurring. There is no restaurant or bar on the property; guests looking for fuller meals will need to drive to nearby restaurants. The continental breakfast is provided free of charge as part of the stay.

The fitness centre is open 24 hours and includes basic equipment. The indoor swimming pool is not operational and has been permanently closed - no swimming or pool access is available. No spa, sauna, or other leisure facilities exist on site. The fitness centre has reportedly been dirty and some machines are broken.

Free WiFi is available in all areas. Free private parking requires a reservation at check-in. A 24-hour front desk can assist with luggage storage, and a launderette with dry cleaning and laundry service is available 24 hours. The property has a lift, a business centre, vending machines, and air conditioning. Accessibility: accessible rooms are available. The hotel does not allow pets and all rooms are non-smoking. However, the elevator has been reported as unreliable, and the overall cleanliness and maintenance of public areas (lobby, hallways, elevator) is poor, with trash accumulation, smoke odors, and dirty carpets. Guests have reported unsanitary conditions in rooms, including bugs, stained linens, and broken fixtures.
