HILTON GARDEN INN OTTAWA AIRPORT, Ottawa

The hotel sits on airport property, making it an ideal choice for early or late flights without added commute stress. A free shuttle runs every 30 minutes around the clock, but it only serves the airport-not the Via Rail station or other city destinations. For downtown-home to Parliament Hill, the National Gallery, and the EY Centre (5 min. walk)-a 15-20 minute drive or taxi is needed. The surrounding area is not walkable for dining or errands, though large supermarkets and shopping centres are a short drive away. The corporate offices of Federal Express and First Air are nearby, and the airport parkway provides quick car access to the city core.

Standard rooms are generously sized and well soundproofed, blocking out most airport and hallway noise. Room furnishings vary significantly by floor: recently renovated rooms (typically floors 6-8) feature modern decor, brighter lighting, and better layout, while unrenovated rooms appear dated with older carpets, minimal lighting, and worn furniture. All rooms include a mini-fridge, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, and flat-screen TV. Some rooms have a separate work desk; adjoining rooms may lack one. A few standard king rooms offer walk-in showers (upon availability). Temperature control can be inconsistent, especially in unrenovated rooms; some units may not cool or heat effectively. A request for a room on a higher, renovated floor is the best strategy for a more comfortable stay. No rooms have private balconies.

Breakfast is a daily paid buffet ($17 CAD per person) featuring hot items (eggs, bacon, sausage), continental selections, and coffee/tea. A la carte ordering is also available. While the buffet is filling and convenient, those seeking a wide breakfast variety or complimentary morning meal may wish to note the cost and scope. Lunch and dinner menus are moderately sized; the restaurant has received positive feedback for food quality, especially for affordable prices, though service can be inconsistent (particularly during busy periods). Kids' meals and special diet menus (on request) are available. For late-night snacks, the hotel's 24-hour convenience store offers packaged goods and drinks. Room service has been reintroduced for cooked-to-order meals, but it's best to confirm at check-in.

All areas offer free Wi-Fi. The 24-hour front desk ensures seamless late arrivals, and luggage storage is available for early/late check-ins-useful for exploring before a flight. On-site parking is free during your stay (reservation required) but long-term parking is not permitted; 20% discount vouchers for nearby airport parking are given at check-in. Pets are permitted with applicable fees; service animals are accommodated with documentation. The hotel is wheelchair accessible, with grab rails, Braille signage, and accessible parking. A business centre, meeting rooms, and express check-in/out are available. Daily housekeeping is free; laundry service is for a fee. The ATM on site provides cash access without leaving the building. Key card access and safety deposit boxes ensure security.
