HI VANCOUVER JERICHO BEACH - HOSTEL, Vancouver

The property is located in Jericho Beach, about 20 minutes by bus from downtown Vancouver. Spanish Banks Beach is 1 km away, while Locarno Beach and Jericho Sailing Centre are within 550 metres. The University of British Columbia is less than 20 minutes away via public transit. The nearest bus stop (routes 4 and 44) is about a 10-minute walk from the hostel, providing direct service to the city centre and other key areas. For those driving, on-site paid parking (CAD 14/day) is available with an overnight pass from reception; limited free street parking can also be found nearby. The area is popular for kayaking, kitesurfing, beach volleyball, and sunset cycling, with the beach and park providing a quiet escape from the busy downtown core.

Dormitories house 14 to 18 beds, separated into sections of 4 beds with curtains. Each bed comes with linens, a backpack-size locker (bring your own padlock), and often a personal light and outlet. Private rooms range from double rooms with shared bathrooms to suites with 2 bedrooms and 6 beds. One private en suite room is available. All rooms include heating, and windows may be opened (though some have been reported as difficult to operate). Road-facing rooms and those near entry doors can be noisy due to door-slamming. The building is older and basic, but bathrooms are frequently noted as clean and recently renovated. Bed comfort varies, with some describing bunks as acceptable and others noting the double beds as less comfortable.

The complimentary continental breakfast includes boiled eggs, fruit, toast or muffins, cereal, and coffee. It is available every morning from 7-9 am. The DICED café on-site provides a place to purchase additional food and drinks, and also functions as a social space. The hostel also has a large, fully equipped shared kitchen with cookware, refrigerators, microwaves, and kettles, allowing guests to prepare their own meals. A community dining area is available for eating. Vending machines on-site offer snacks and drinks.
