The hotel sits in a lively corridor packed with restaurants, bars, and nightlife. The immediate street environment includes a visible homeless population and can feel unsafe after dark. Public transport is excellent: the Yaletown-Roundhouse Canada Line station (10-minute walk) connects to YVR Airport in about 35 minutes, and multiple bus routes stop directly outside. Canada Place cruise terminal is 7 minutes by car or 20-25 minutes on foot. Granville Island, Gastown, and the West End are all within walking distance. For drivers, parking is limited and paid; a rental car is not recommended because of city-wide parking costs.

Standard double rooms are small and basic, with one bed, a work desk, and a coffee machine; they lack a fridge or microwave (a fridge can be requested upon availability). The one-bedroom suite provides more space and a separate seating area with a double sofa bed. The studio suite sleeps up to six with two double beds and a sofa bed, plus a semi-kitchenette. Some suites include a full kitchenette with a two-burner stove, sink, and small fridge. Rooms have air conditioning (units can be noisy), heating, and a safe. No rooms have a balcony. The building is old; noise from the nightclub, street, and other rooms is a recurring issue, especially on weekend nights. Rooms on higher floors away from Granville Street are noticeably quieter. The bed in double rooms is compact, and the sofa bed is often described as uncomfortable.

Morrissey's Irish Bar & Grill serves a casual pub menu with Irish stew, imported beers, and pub classics. It is open Tuesday to Sunday from 07:00 until 02:00-03:00. Hotel guests receive a 25% discount on food and drinks. The Twelve West lounge offers house cocktails and a modern nightclub atmosphere. When breakfast is included in a promotional rate, it consists of a voucher for a full American breakfast (eggs, toast, sausage or bacon, and potatoes) at the pub, but coffee and other drinks are not included and must be purchased separately. The pub breakfast environment and quality have been described as inconsistent. Free 24-hour coffee and tea are available in the hotel lobby. Many restaurants are within a short walk along Granville Street.

The hotel provides complimentary passes to Steve Nash Fitness World, located a few minutes' walk away. There is no swimming pool, spa, or wellness centre on the property. Evening entertainment at an additional charge includes happy hour, live music (off-site), and a nightclub/DJ. The surrounding entertainment district offers live music, sports venues, and comedy clubs within walking distance. Sunset Beach is 10 minutes away on foot, and Stanley Park is 3 km from the hotel.
