The hotel sits at the edge of Gastown, within walking distance of Rogers Arena (15 min), BC Place Stadium (15 min), Queen Elizabeth Theatre, Pacific Centre Mall, and Robson Street shopping. The Canada Place cruise terminal is 10 minutes on foot, and the SkyTrain station (Waterfront) provides direct rail access to Vancouver International Airport via the Canada Line. The neighbourhood includes a mix of restaurants, cafés, and upscale grocery stores within a few blocks. Some areas immediately around the hotel have a visible presence of homeless individuals and drug use, particularly in the evening; the hotel entrance is locked after dark for safety, and most attractions are in the opposite direction. Walking to Stanley Park takes about 20 minutes along the seawall.

The hotel offers a variety of room types from cosy double rooms to spacious Superior King and Suite options with separate sitting areas. Superior King rooms feature large bathrooms with soaker tubs, while Legacy King rooms showcase original exposed brick. Superior Double rooms include two double beds suitable for families or groups of up to 4 adults. Room size can vary significantly - some Legacy King rooms have been described as notably smaller than what photos suggest. The air conditioning in these rooms is a portable unit with a hose that exits through the window, which can be quite loud and may prevent curtains from fully closing, letting in street light and noise. Road-side rooms can experience noticeable traffic and emergency-vehicle noise. Soundproofing between rooms is limited; corridor and footstep noise can be audible. Rooms with shared bathrooms (3 bathrooms for 8 rooms on the floor) are an option and are kept clean, but are located in the hallway. All private bathrooms are well-appointed with marble or granite finishes, walk-in showers, and plush bathrobes. Some double rooms have a small desk; request one at booking if needed.

The hotel does not operate its own restaurant or bar. A continental breakfast may be available for purchase (select dates check availability) and, when available, is limited. The attached Italian restaurant Locanda dell'Orso serves dinner and is highly rated; it is often fully booked. The immediate area offers Republica Coffee Roasters, EXP Restaurant & Bar, Meat & Bread, Indigo Age Cafe, Finch's, and Steamworks Brewery, all within a 5-10-minute walk. An upscale grocery store is also nearby for self-catering supplies. The hotel provides complimentary still and sparkling water, Nespresso coffee, and tea in the lobby 24/7.
