HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS & SUITES AUSTIN NORTH CENTRAL BY IHG, Austin

The hotel sits off Interstate 35, placing downtown Austin, the University of Texas, and the State Capitol all within a 10- to 15-minute drive. Nearby landmarks include the Domain, the Austin FC Stadium, and major corporate offices such as Apple, Dell, and Samsung. The area is walkable to some nearby restaurants and bars, though a car is the most practical way to access most attractions and dining options. Free on-site parking is available, but the lot is small. For those without a car, highway noise can be noticeable in rooms facing I-35. The surrounding neighborhood has some construction and safety considerations that make using the main entrance and well-lit parking areas advisable after dark.

Rooms are available with one or two beds, including spacious double rooms and suites with sofa beds. All units include air conditioning, a work desk, ironing facilities, a tea and coffee maker, and a private bathroom with shower and hairdryer. Some rooms are wheelchair accessible, with grab rails and tactile signage. Rooms do not have balconies or patios. Windows can be opened slightly for fresh air. While some rooms have been described as spacious and quiet, others have reported dated decor, carpeting that feels unclean or damp, and musty smells. Noise from the highway and hallway can be an issue, particularly in rooms facing I-35. The property has no on-site restaurant, but the free breakfast is available each morning.

Breakfast is complimentary and includes hot options such as scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, along with fresh fruit, yogurt, muffins, toast, cereal, and the hotel's signature cinnamon rolls. On weekends, breakfast hours are 6:30 am to 10 am, while on weekdays service ends at 9:30 am. The hotel does not operate a restaurant or bar, but vending machines for drinks and snacks are available. The lobby offers complimentary coffee, lemonade, and water throughout the day. Several restaurants and bars are within a short walk or quick drive from the hotel.

Wi-Fi is free in all areas. Free public parking is available on-site, though the lot is small and cannot accommodate large trucks, trailers, or buses. The 24-hour front desk offers express check-in/out, an ATM, and luggage storage. Daily housekeeping is included, with laundry and dry cleaning available for an additional charge. A business centre offers free fax and photocopying, and meeting/banquet facilities are available for a fee. The hotel has a lift, though functionality has been inconsistent. Accessibility features include wheelchair-accessible rooms with grab rails and tactile signage. Board games and puzzles are available for children. Pets under 11 kg are allowed for a $50 per night fee. Smoking is not permitted indoors but is allowed in outdoor areas.
