HOSTAL EMILIO BARAJAS, Madrid

The property is very close to Barajas Metro Station, providing a direct connection to the airport (one stop) and a 40-minute metro ride into central Madrid. Several bus stops are within walking distance, with direct routes to downtown Madrid and the airport terminals. For drivers, free private on-site parking is available (reservation needed), making this a practical base for airport access. The surrounding Barajas neighbourhood is safe and vibrant. Olivar de la Hinojosa Golf Course and El Capricho Park are a 20-minute walk away. Taxis are readily available, and the local bus (line 101) offers a cheap ride to the airport terminals, more convenient than the metro for many.

All rooms feature air conditioning, heating, a flat-screen TV, and a private bathroom. Some rooms also include a small seating area. The accommodation is basic and utilitarian, with older furniture and fittings that show wear. Some rooms have been described as very small, with limited storage and no in-room amenities such as a fridge, kettle, or glasses. Windows in certain rooms face a dark interior courtyard or the street; street-facing rooms can be noisy, especially near the reception area. Noise from corridors and neighbouring rooms is common due to thin walls. For a better night's sleep, request a room away from reception and the main entrance. The property has no lift, so guests with heavy luggage or mobility concerns should consider this.

The hostal does not operate a restaurant, bar, or breakfast service, so all meals must be arranged externally. The immediate neighbourhood is well supplied with dining options: within 0.5 km you'll find Barajas Doner Kebab, Telepizza, El Figon, Restaurante Martes 13, Pizzeria y Heladeria Sienna, PANconTEN, La Vina de Nerea, and Okela - offering everything from tapas and pizza to kebabs and Spanish cuisine. Many of these remain open until late, making it easy to find a meal or drink after a late flight arrival. Several cafés and bakeries nearby are suitable for breakfast or a quick coffee before heading to the airport.

The property does not have a swimming pool, spa, or wellness centre. For outdoor leisure, Olivar de la Hinojosa Golf Course and El Capricho Park are a 20-minute walk away. The lively Barajas square and surrounding streets feature outdoor seating at local bars and restaurants, providing a casual place to relax in the evening. This makes the hostal more suited to travellers needing a simple, functional base rather than those seeking on-site recreational amenities.
