HOSTEL TRASTEVERE, Rome

The hostel is situated in a quieter part of Trastevere, about a 20-minute walk from the lively centre of the district and a 30-minute walk from Termini station. Tram line 8 stops nearby, providing a direct connection to Piazza Venezia and central attractions in about 15 minutes. Several bus routes are also within a 3-minute walk. Roma Trastevere train station connects directly to Fiumicino Airport, making it convenient for arrivals and departures. A supermarket is right next door, and a Sunday flea market (Porta Portese) is held practically on site. Numerous restaurants and bars are clustered within a 5-minute walk, including Red & White Ristobar, Roadhouse Restaurant, and Seu Pizza Illuminati. The location works well for those comfortable with public transport or a pleasant walk into the historic core.

The accommodation offers both private rooms and dormitories, including female-only dorms upon request. Rooms are generally described as spacious with high ceilings, parquet floors, and soundproof walls. Each room has air conditioning (often with individual control) and free Wi-Fi. Private bathrooms are available in some rooms and include a shower, hairdryer, and toiletries. Dormitories have shared bathrooms that are mixed-gender and consist of multiple shower and toilet cubicles. Some bathrooms lack soap, toilet paper, and functional locks, and the shower doors are partly transparent. Lockers are provided in rooms but require a personal padlock; some lockers may not close properly. Electrical outlets can be limited, with as few as two sockets for a six- or eight-bed dorm. Bed linens are provided and changed daily, but towels are only included in private rooms. Upper bunks lack safety rails. The overall feel is practical and somewhat dated, with some rooms in an annex building across the courtyard.

The property has a garden, terrace, and picnic area with outdoor furniture. Indoors, there is a shared lounge/TV area and a separate relaxation room. Leisure activities include darts, board games/puzzles, and live sports broadcasts. A free tour or class about local culture is also offered. There is no swimming pool, spa, or wellness centre. The common areas are spacious and decorated in a quirky style, providing plenty of space to relax or socialise.
