HOTEL ADOLESCE, Amsterdam

The hotel occupies a serene canal-side position that feels removed from the busiest tourist zones while keeping all major attractions easily accessible on foot. The metro station is a 5-minute walk, and tram lines are equally close, providing direct connections to Amsterdam Central Station and the broader city. A 25-minute walk reaches the city centre, and the area around Rembrandtplein offers many restaurants, bars, and cafés within a short stroll. The quiet neighbourhood ensures restful sleep, and the canal views from the front rooms add considerable atmosphere. For travellers arriving by train, the metro from Central Station takes about 10 minutes. Since the hotel has no parking, walking, cycling, or public transport are the practical choices.

Accommodation includes double rooms with private bathroom and city or canal views, twin rooms measuring 28 m2 with two single beds and private facilities, and single rooms of 14-15 m2. The top-floor single room (15 m2) has a single bed and shared bathroom, while other singles include private toilet and shower. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a private entrance, wardrobe, carpeted floor, a fan, and free toiletries. Some rooms have canal views from the front of the building; rear rooms overlook quiet gardens. A terrace is available for certain rooms. Rooms are cleaned daily, and the property owner is known for being attentive to comfort needs. The steep stairs are notable, especially for top-floor rooms, so travellers with mobility concerns should plan accordingly.

The hotel provides an unusually generous complimentary dining experience: a 24-hour buffet with a continental-style spread that includes fresh juices, hot drinks, cereals, cold meats, cheeses, butter, jam, sweet pastries, bread, a toaster, and a microwave. Items can be taken to the room and returned to reception for washing. This setup effectively covers breakfast and light snacks throughout the day and evening, making it a strong value for travellers who want flexibility. There is no formal restaurant on site, but the surrounding area - particularly along the nearby canals and around Rembrandtplein - offers many dining options within a few minutes' walk, including Italian, Dutch, and international cuisines.

Wellness facilities are limited to the property's own tranquil setting: a terrace for outdoor seating and the calming atmosphere of the garden or canal views from rooms. The neighbourhood itself is ideal for walking tours, with the Hermitage, botanical gardens, and the zoo all close by. Boat tour operators stop along the canal just across from the hotel, offering an easy way to explore the city from the water. For more active leisure, a bike rental shop is 7 minutes away.

Wi-Fi is free and available throughout the property, with a wired connection also free in the business centre area. Luggage storage is available for early arrivals or late departures, with the possibility of early check-in to the room if it is ready. The reception area features a laptop and printer for guest use. Daily housekeeping is provided. Pets are not allowed, and the entire property is non-smoking. The hotel does not offer an airport shuttle, parking, or a restaurant, so guests should plan transport and meals accordingly. Payment is accepted via Visa, Bankcard, or MasterCard.
