HOTEL ALEX SQUARE, Rome

The hotel is situated in a lively central area, less than 1 km from Termini Metro Station and the main bus hub. This gives convenient access to the Colosseum (2 metro stops), Spanish Steps, and other historic landmarks. The immediate vicinity has numerous restaurants, cafes, and shops within a 5-minute walk. Note that the building houses several other hotels and guesthouses, and the entrance is shared. The area is well-served by public transport but can be busy; rooms facing the street may experience noise until late at night, while higher floors or those overlooking the inner courtyard are notably quieter.

Hotel Alex Square offers single, double, twin/double, triple, quadruple, and family rooms. Each room includes a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, bath, bidet, and hairdryer. Rooms feature tiled floors, heating, and city views. Family rooms have 4 beds; quadruple rooms have 3 beds. Some rooms are compact, particularly those with an extra bed. Road-facing rooms can be noisy; light sleepers should request a quiet courtyard or higher-floor room. The furniture style is basic and functional, and the building is older; some rooms have been recently refurbished while others remain dated. Daily housekeeping includes changing sheets and towels if left on the floor.

Breakfast is a continental Italian buffet with croissants, pastries, bread, butter, jam, and hot drinks from a machine. The offering is sweet-focused; there is no hot food or savory selection. Breakfast quality is consistently described as fine and adequate for the price point. The breakfast room is in a separate part of the building but is managed by friendly staff. For those wanting a fuller meal, numerous restaurants and cafes are within a 3-minute walk, including trattorias, pizzerias, and a Vietnamese restaurant.

The hotel offers free Wi-Fi in all rooms, a 24-hour front desk, daily housekeeping, and free luggage storage. Express check-in/out and a shared lounge/TV area are also available. A minimarket on site provides snacks and essentials. The building has a lift, but it is shared with multiple hotels and can be slow, is small (fits 2 people), and may occasionally break down. Safety features include 24-hour security, CCTV, key access, and safety deposit boxes (additional charge). There is no phone in the rooms to contact reception directly. Some specific services like fax/photocopying are free.
