HOTEL ALINE, Florence

The hotel is on the top floor of a building, with a small lift to reach it, and sits next to the Basilica di San Marco. The Accademia Gallery (300 m) and Florence Cathedral (10 min walk) are easily reached on foot. Santa Maria Novella Station is also a 10-minute walk, making arrival by train practical. The central market and many restaurants and shops are within a few blocks, and the area is quiet enough for a good night's sleep despite its central position.

Rooms vary: some include a private bathroom with shower, bidet, and hairdryer, while others have a shower and sink in the room but a shared toilet on the corridor. The property is older and basic in style, but rooms are kept clean. Some units have a balcony or small terrace, and a few triple rooms include a minibar and wardrobe. The 4th-floor location and lift access are practical for luggage. Double rooms with private bathrooms are recommended for more convenience; those with shared facilities should plan for the two shared toilets per floor.

There is no restaurant or bar at the hotel. A vending machine provides coffee and snacks, useful for early mornings. For fuller meals, many dining options are within a 300-metre walk, including La Cucina del Garga, Trattoria Mario, and I'abbondanza, offering a range of Italian cuisine. The central market is also nearby for fresh food and casual bites.

Services include free Wi-Fi throughout, daily housekeeping with fresh towels and toiletries, and free luggage storage before check-in and after check-out-useful for exploring Florence without bags. Laundry service (wash only, no drying) costs €7 per load. A safety deposit box is free, and express check-in/out is available. Concierge and tour desk assistance are provided during reception hours (09:30-19:00). Access to the 4th floor is via a small lift.
