HOTEL DENBU, Hamburg

The hotel sits in a residential area near the airport, making it a practical choice for early flights or business trips. The bus stop 'Alsterkrugchaussee Mitte' is directly outside, with bus 292 to the airport and bus 23 to the city centre and U-Bahn station Alsterdorf. A taxi to the airport costs about €8-10. Nearby within 5-15 minutes on foot are a Lidl supermarket, a Burger King, and a few other restaurants, though sit-down evening dining options are limited. The central Hamburg Fair and Inner Alster Lake are reachable within 30 minutes by public transport.

The hotel offers single, double, triple rooms and suites. Bathrooms are private with showers, free toiletries, and carpeted floors. Some rooms have seating areas. Soundproofing is generally good but thin walls are reported in older sections; rooms facing the road or next to reception can be noisier. No air conditioning is installed, so rooms rely on windows for cooling; ground-floor rooms can be darker. Some rooms have been renovated with modern furnishings, while others appear dated with worn carpets and older decor. Pillows are considered uncomfortable by many, and some mattresses are thin. Daily housekeeping is provided and includes towel changes. A kettle with tea/coffee is available in each room.

Breakfast includes bread, pastries, cheese, ham, boiled eggs, juice, coffee, and tea. It is available from 06:30 to 09:30 Monday to Friday and 07:00 to 10:00 on weekends, costing €15 per person. The selection is basic and consistent; those wanting a more varied meal may prefer to eat outside. The hotel has a bar, a snack bar, a vending machine for drinks, and a coffee shop, but no full restaurant for dinner. The nearest sit-down dinner options are within a 10-minute walk. Wine/champagne is available for an additional charge. A child-friendly buffet is offered during breakfast.

The hotel has a garden with outdoor furniture and a sun terrace where guests can relax. There is also a shared lounge/TV area and a coffee shop. For leisure activities, boating is possible in the surrounding area. No spa, sauna, gym, or swimming pool is available.

Wi-Fi is free and available throughout the property. Parking is private, on-site, costs €10 per day, and requires a reservation. A taxi for airport transfers costs about €10; no hotel shuttle is available. Services include a tour desk, luggage storage, daily housekeeping, express check-in/check-out, and full-day security with CCTV and key card access. An iron is available on request. The hotel has a lift and is accessible via stairs, though some rooms are on the lower ground floor. Baby safety gates and cots are available for families. No pets are allowed, and the entire property is smoke-free. Payment is accepted via Visa, Maestro, Bankcard, EC-Card, and MasterCard.
