HOTEL GUEST1 UENO EKIMAE, Tokyo

The hotel sits a 6-minute walk from Ueno Park and a short, quiet stroll to the bustling Ameyoko market and hundreds of restaurants. Ueno Station provides direct JR lines (Yamanote, Keihin-Tohoku), subway connections (Ginza, Hibiya lines), and the Keisei Skyliner for Narita Airport. Asakusa is an 8-minute train ride away, and both the park and major museums are within easy walking distance. The street is calm, making it a surprisingly peaceful spot given the central location.

Rooms are fitted with air conditioning, a refrigerator, electric kettle, flat-screen TV, soundproof walls, and a safe deposit box large enough for an A4 notebook. Some rooms have a seating area. The double room offers a 130 cm wide bed, while twin rooms have two single beds. The space is efficient - suited for light packers or solo travellers - and opening a large suitcase on the floor can be tight. A fan, trouser press, and ironing board are available on request. The hotel is older; some carpets and fixtures may show wear, and dust has been noted in a few units. The outdoor corridor entry means the internal hallway can feel cool.

Breakfast includes soup, bread, coffee, salad, eggs, and a daily hot main such as curry or miso soup. The breakfast area is small and can become crowded; carrying food to your room is an option during peak times. Free drinks including coffee, juice, and soda are available in the lobby from 2PM to 2AM. For a fuller meal or dinner, many restaurants are within a 3-minute walk.

Massage services can be arranged at the front desk. The coin laundry offers combined washer-dryer units, and the cycle status is displayed on the room TV. Free toiletries (cleanser, toner, moisturiser) are available for selection in the lobby.

The hotel offers free Wi-Fi throughout, a 24-hour front desk, daily housekeeping (on request or scheduled), and free luggage storage for same-day use. A vending machine for drinks is on site, and Yamato Transport courier delivery is accepted. Parking is limited to 2 spaces at ¥3,000/day and must be booked in advance. Laundry and dry cleaning are available for an extra charge. The property uses key card access, has CCTV and 24-hour security, and provides a safety deposit box in each room. Multilingual staff speak English, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
