HOTEL MITTELWEG, Hamburg

The hotel sits on a quiet, leafy residential street in one of Hamburg's most desirable neighbourhoods. The Außenalster Lake is within a 3-5 minute walk, offering waterside paths and nearby restaurants. Hamburg city centre, the CHH Exhibition Centre, and the Reeperbahn are all roughly a 10-minute drive away. The property is well served by public transport: bus line 19 stops directly outside and reaches the central Rathausplatz in about 15 minutes, while the nearest U-Bahn station is a 10-minute walk. Several cafés and restaurants are within half a kilometre, including Red Dog, PALAZZO Nevio Fontaniello, L'atelier du par ici and Sushi Lounge X.

Rooms are spacious and individually decorated with antique furniture, complementing the property's classic character. Each room includes a private bathroom with a shower or bathtub, a minibar, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a safe, and a wardrobe. Some rooms have a balcony or terrace, and garden-facing rooms are quieter than those overlooking the street. The triple room offers extra space, a dining area, and both a bath and shower, with two beds. All rooms are non-smoking and have carpeted floors. Note that the building has no lift, so upper-floor rooms involve stairs. Basement rooms are available but may have a musty smell, and some attic rooms can become very warm in summer.

A rich breakfast buffet is available each morning for an additional €15 per person. The selection includes breads, pastries, cold cuts, cheeses, cereals, boiled eggs, jams, and fresh coffee or tea. The breakfast room itself is a highlight, with elegant décor, linen tablecloths, and a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. Wine and champagne are available from the minibar or as an additional service. The hotel's neighbourhood offers numerous dining options within an easy walk, including Italian, Asian, and local restaurants along the Alster.

The hotel's garden terrace is a peaceful retreat, equipped with free-to-use sun loungers and sun umbrellas. The garden is well maintained and offers a calm setting for reading or unwinding after a day in the city. The Außenalster Lake, a short walk away, is ideal for walking, jogging, or cycling around the water.

Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel free of charge. Luggage storage is available free of charge for early arrivals or late departures. Daily housekeeping is included. A safety deposit box is provided free of charge in each room. Fax/photocopying services are available for a fee. On-site private parking is limited to small cars and costs €15 per day; street parking is also available. The hotel has key card access, CCTV, and smoke alarms for security. Pet bowls are available but pets are not permitted to stay.
