The area is safe and vibrant day and night, though the street activity can produce noise, particularly in street-facing rooms. Staff at the tour desk can recommend excursions and walking routes, and many attractions, including those south of the Arno, are reachable on foot within 30 minutes.

Room sizes vary; many are compact, especially those configured for four people, leaving limited space for luggage. Street-facing rooms experience significant noise from the lively street and nearby pub, while rooms on the interior courtyard are quieter. Air conditioning is centrally controlled and may not provide strong cooling during very hot weather; some rooms have reported temperature issues. Décor is functional but dated, and corridor carpets can be dusty. Bathrooms are small; some have been renovated with modern fixtures. No rooms have a balcony or in-room safe-valuables can be stored at reception's safe. Some rooms have mould or moisture issues, and bedding quality can be inconsistent.
