IBIS BORDEAUX LAC, Bordeaux

The hotel sits on a commercial estate with other hotels and business units, so immediate surroundings are practical rather than atmospheric. The tram stop (Parc des Expositions, Line C) is a 1-minute walk and takes you directly to central Bordeaux in about 15-20 minutes (€1.90 single fare). Bordeaux Mérignac Airport is 15 km away - no hotel shuttle, but the tram connects with the airport bus route. The Exhibition Centre is 500 m away, the Matmut Atlantique stadium is a 5-minute walk, and the lake is directly adjacent, providing a pleasant walking area. A supermarket is 3 km away. The area can experience gridlocked traffic at peak times, particularly around the neighbouring college and hotels. For car travellers, the free on-site parking is a key benefit, but for exploring the city centre, the tram is faster and avoids congestion.

Breakfast is a continental buffet with sweet and savoury options: eggs (including self-cooked boiled eggs), fruit salad, yogurts, juices, pastries baked on-site (croissants, Madeleine cakes), gluten-free bread available on request, plus a hot beverage and a piece of fruit to take away. A lighter option is available from 04:00. Seating is on the lake-view terrace in good weather. The breakfast room can be crowded and replenishment sometimes slow with only one staff member. The Courtepaille restaurant serves traditional French cuisine in a family-friendly, modern setting, with a grill visible from the dining area. It offers a vegetarian option, kids' meals (additional charge), and a cocktail hour. Dinner prices are reasonable, with a half-board ticket of €21 per person covering a main course; extra courses cost separately. The bar (open 11:00-23:00) serves snacks and drinks. Some dishes have been reported as basic or frozen-pizza quality, but the restaurant is a convenient option for a quick evening meal, with takeaway dinner to the room possible.

Free private parking is available on site with no height restriction and no reservation needed; the parking area is secure behind a locked gate, making it suitable for vehicles with roof boxes or motorcycles. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel. The 24-hour front desk offers express check-in/check-out, luggage storage (free), and a safety deposit box (free). Business facilities include a business centre and meeting/banquet rooms (additional charge). Fax/photocopying is available for a fee. The hotel is wheelchair accessible, with lower bathroom sinks, raised toilets, grab rails, and a lift. Pets are allowed for €5 per pet per night, and dogs are welcome in the bar and restaurant. A resident cat lives in the hotel lobby. The hotel has key-card access, CCTV inside and outside, fire extinguishers, and smoke alarms. Road bikes can be stored securely in meeting rooms if arranged in advance. Accepted payment methods: American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and cash. Housekeeping is on request, not automatic.
