IL DROMEDARIO, Florence

The B&B sits on a quiet street near the tram stop and train station, making arrival from Florence airport (9km) or rail connections straightforward. The Duomo is about 12-15 minutes on foot, and all major historic sites are within a comfortable 15-minute walk. A supermarket, several cafés, and a range of restaurants are within a few hundred metres. For longer journeys, the tram and bus stops are right on the doorstep. The location scores well for walkability and public transport access.

Rooms are typically large with high ceilings and include a private entrance, a work desk, minibar, flat-screen TV, and a safe. The bathrooms are renewed and fitted with a shower, bidet, and hairdryer. The double room has one bed; the triple has two beds; the family room provides three beds with a mezzanine loft that children particularly enjoy. Street-facing rooms can pick up tram and traffic noise, but the building's solid construction and air conditioning make it easy to keep windows closed. Interiors are clean, well-maintained, and decorated in a classic style that matches the historic building.

The property focuses on comfortable accommodation and central location rather than wellness facilities. For relaxation, all of Florence's cultural sites, parks, and cafés are easily reachable on foot.

The B&B provides fast fibre Wi-Fi (345Mbps), a lift to upper floors, free daily housekeeping, and a secure key-card entry system. Luggage storage is available free of charge on check-out day, which is especially useful for late-departure travel. The host Andrea is consistently noted as friendly and responsive, giving dining tips and helping with special requests. A safety deposit box, pet bowls/baskets, and a shared locker area add further convenience. Private check-in and check-out are included, and English, Spanish, and Italian are spoken.
