KARL JOHANS GATE 35, Oslo

The hotel sits directly on Karl Johans gate, the city's main thoroughfare, placing attractions such as the Royal Palace, Akershus Fortress, and Oslo Spektrum Music Arena within a 1 km walk. Nationaltheatret Station is just a few minutes away, providing direct airport express trains (Flytoget) to Oslo Airport in 25 minutes and easy metro access to Holmenkollen and other ski areas. The central pedestrian street means most major sights, shopping, and dining are reachable on foot. However, being on the main street and near a popular nightlife area, noise from bars, karaoke venues, and street activities can be significant, especially on weekends. For car-free travellers, this location is superb; for those arriving by car, parking must be arranged at nearby paid garages.

Breakfast is offered for an additional 295 NOK and runs from 6:30-10:00 on weekdays and 8:00-11:00 on weekends. The buffet is extensive, featuring fresh fruits, smoothies, cheeses, meats, breads, hot items (eggs, bacon, sausages), and a dedicated gluten-free section. Vegan options are available upon request from the kitchen. The breakfast room is a bright, glass-ceilinged space that can get busy, so time slots are reserved in advance to manage flow. For other meals, the hotel does not have its own full-service restaurant but is surrounded by numerous dining options within 0.5 km, including Egon Karl Johan, Kaffistova, and Palmen Restaurant & Othilia Lobby Bar. The lobby bar offers drinks and snacks.

The fitness centre offers basic cardio and strength equipment and is open to all guests at no additional cost. For leisure beyond the hotel, Oslo's city centre provides an ice-skating rink and boating opportunities within walking distance. The Royal Palace Park and the main street itself are popular for strolls. The area also offers Christmas markets and seasonal events directly outside the hotel.

The hotel provides free WiFi throughout the property. A 24-hour front desk can assist with early check-in, late check-out (subject to availability), and luggage storage before/after your stay. Daily housekeeping is included in the room rate. For business travellers, meeting and banquet facilities are available for an additional charge, as are fax/photocopying services. The hotel has three lifts (elevators) to serve its 5 floors, though some budget rooms require a few steps from the lift. Wheelchair-accessible rooms can be booked by contacting the hotel directly. Payment is accepted via American Express, Visa, and MasterCard. The hotel is non-smoking throughout and uses key card access for security.
