MALDA SINGULAR HOTEL, Barcelona

The hotel is set above a shopping arcade inside the Gothic Quarter, with La Seu Cathedral 200 metres away and Plaza Catalunya a 6-minute walk. Las Ramblas and the Boqueria Market are about 10 minutes on foot. The entrance is via an elevator from the arcade; the front door locks after 21:30 and entry requires a code after hours. Cars can drive to the entrance, but standard taxis may not know the exact route - pre-arranged airport transfers (€55-€65) drop guests at the door. Barcelona El Prat Airport is 12 km away. The area is extremely walkable for sightseeing, shopping, and dining.

The hotel offers 17 rooms: Deluxe rooms have queen-size beds, while Grand Deluxe and Suites have king-size beds. Two of the three suites include a bathtub and a balcony (subject to availability on arrival). Each room provides a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, a wardrobe, flat-screen TV, mini-bar, electric kettle, and soundproof walls. For families, the Deluxe room cannot accommodate a cot; the Grand Deluxe or Suite is recommended. Room sizes vary: some are described as spacious, while others are snug. Rooms facing away from the street are notably quiet. The suites are on a separate floor accessed via the theatre stairwell - this area may be less private and has steep stairs.

There is no restaurant or breakfast service. Each morning, the lounge provides complimentary pastries from a local bakery, orange juice, and coffee. The lobby also has an honesty bar with drinks and snacks for purchase. Several cafés, tapas bars, and restaurants are within a 5-minute walk on the surrounding streets and squares, including options on Petritxol and around Plaza del Pi.

WiFi is free in all areas. The 24-hour reception can arrange an airport shuttle (€55-€65), book taxis, or provide a map of local attractions. Luggage storage is available before check-in and after check-out. Daily housekeeping is included; laundry and dry cleaning are available at an extra cost. An iron and ironing board can be borrowed from reception. Safety features include key card access, CCTV, smoke alarms, and a safe deposit box. The lift requires a room card or code after hours, and the building gate locks at night - the hotel will provide the access code before arrival.
