Mellow Barcelona sits in a calm, non-touristy neighbourhood with a 10-minute walk to Maragall Metro and about 15 minutes uphill from Badal Metro. The uphill walk from any metro station is demanding, especially after a day of sightseeing or with luggage. Local bus lines (117, V23) stop right outside, but services become infrequent after 9-10 PM. A taxi or ride-share is the most practical option for late returns. Gaudi's Guell Park is a 30-minute walk away, and Sagrada Familia is about 25 minutes by metro. The city centre (Plaza Cataluña) is around 35 minutes by public transport. The area is quiet at night, with restaurants and shops within a 10-15 minute walk downhill.

The hostel offers a range of accommodation: mixed and female-only dorms with 4, 6, 8 or 10 beds, as well as private twin, family and an apartment with a private balcony. Most rooms are heated and have air conditioning. Dorm beds have privacy curtains, individual reading lights, electrical sockets, a shelf, and a large lockable storage drawer underneath. A padlock is needed for the drawer; you can bring your own or buy one at reception for a small fee. Private rooms are basic but functional; the larger superior rooms have shared bathrooms, while some private rooms offer en-suite facilities. The apartment is fully private with its own kitchen and terrace. Bed sizes are standard for dorms; if you need a bottom bunk, request it at reception - availability is not guaranteed.

A continental or buffet breakfast is offered each morning for a 5 EUR surcharge - a budget-friendly option to start the day. For other meals, the shared kitchen is well-equipped with an oven, microwave, hob, kettle, fridge and utensils, making it easy to prepare your own food. There is also a minimarket on site and a snack bar with drinks and snacks. Vending machines provide convenience for drinks and packaged snacks. Nearby restaurants include El Raco del Pedrell (0.5 km) and several others within a 10-minute walk downhill.

The hostel provides free WiFi across all areas. The 24-hour reception desk can assist with tours and offers luggage storage (free before check-in and after check-out), so you can explore the city without carrying bags. Lockers are in the dormitories; bring your own padlock or buy one at reception. Laundry services are available for an additional charge.
