MOTEL ONE GLASGOW, Glasgow

The hotel occupies a prime city-centre position adjacent to Glasgow Central Station, providing direct rail links across Scotland and to the airport. Buchanan Street's shops, restaurants and the Style Mile are a 200-metre stroll away, while the SEC Hydro is 2 km and the Royal Concert Hall 900 metres. The surrounding area is busy with pubs and eateries - several within a 5-minute walk - and the Glasgow Airport Express bus stops at St Vincent Street, a 2-minute walk from the hotel. The immediate vicinity can feel lively at night due to nearby bars and a nightclub; rooms on higher floors are quieter. The elevated walkability and public transport access make the location particularly well-suited for rail travellers, concert-goers and shoppers who prefer not to drive.

All rooms feature an en-suite bathroom with a shower, hairdryer, free toiletries, a desk, safe, flat-screen TV, tea/coffee-making facilities and soundproofed windows. The king bed is configured as two single mattresses on a double base with separate bedding - not a traditional single mattress - which some find noticeable. Upper-floor rooms (especially high-up, rear-facing) are significantly quieter, while lower floors can experience street and nightclub noise until late. The airflow system provides cooled air in summer but lacks precision temperature control; opening the windows is possible but increases noise. The size is described as compact: adequate for one person or brief stays, but tight for two people with luggage. Daily cleaning is included, and irons/ironing boards are available from reception. The room's atmosphere is clean and functional rather than spacious.

The unlimited continental breakfast runs from a buffet with bread, pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, cheese, cold meats and hard-boiled eggs. Gluten-free bread, vegan granola, non-dairy yogurt and several plant-based options are available. The cost is £14 per person; there is no cooked breakfast. The One Lounge functions as a bar and casual dining space, offering fresh coffee, cocktails and toasties, and is open into the evening. Some have noted the breakfast buffet can feel crowded and run out of items later in the service, and there is long waiting times for bar service. The hotel does not have a full restaurant. Given the continental-only format, those wanting a hot cooked breakfast may prefer to use a nearby café.

The hotel provides free WiFi in all areas, a 24-hour front desk, express check-in/check-out, free daily housekeeping, free luggage storage, a lift and a shared lounge/TV area. Accessibility features include wheelchair-accessible rooms, a lift, grab rails, a raised toilet, a lower bathroom sink, an emergency cord, auditory guidance and key-card access. Safety measures include CCTV, fire extinguishers and smoke alarms. Pets are allowed in all areas except the breakfast room, costing £15 per night; pet bowls are available. Laundry is not offered on-site; a launderette is available on Buchanan Street.
