MOTEL ONE HAMBURG-ALTONA, Hamburg

The hotel is situated on the busy six-lane Kieler Strasse but benefits from excellent public transport connections. The Diebsteich S-Bahn station is a 15-minute walk away (700 m), offering direct trains to Hamburg Harbour and the Reeperbahn. A bus stop is located directly in front of the hotel, providing frequent services to the city centre (20-30 minutes) and to the Volksparkstadion. Osterstraße Metro station is 1 km away, linking to the Jungfernstieg shopping area. Altona main station is 2 km from the property, with connections to major German cities. For drivers, on-site parking is available but limited and costs €15 per night. The immediate area includes fast-food options (Burger King, McDonald's), supermarkets (Spar, Rewe), and a few local restaurants within a 500 m walk.

All rooms are air-conditioned double rooms (only double beds available) measuring approximately 16 m2. They feature floor-to-ceiling windows, contemporary furniture, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a work desk, and a private bathroom with a rain shower and hairdryer. There is no wardrobe-only open shelving-and no tea/coffee making facilities or bottle water provided. Road-facing rooms on the front of the hotel suffer from significant traffic noise from Kieler Strasse, and opening the window amplifies this considerably. The air conditioning can be noisy and in some cases has been reported as ineffective, leading to uncomfortably warm rooms. Rooms at the back of the building are quieter but can face into a courtyard where other rooms are directly opposite. The pillows are described as very firm. Rooms are clean, with a modern, minimal design, but the compact layout means two people may find the space and small bathroom tight.

The hotel does not offer a gym, pool, sauna, or spa. Leisure is centred around the modern lobby lounge with designer furniture, a bar, and a small terrace. Bicycle rental is available for guests who wish to explore the city on two wheels. The location is practical for attending events at Barclays Arena or Volksparkstadion, with a direct bus connection.

The hotel provides free Wi-Fi throughout, a 24-hour front desk, express check-in/check-out, and luggage storage (free of charge). There is a shared lounge/TV area and a bar. Daily housekeeping is free but appears only upon request; otherwise rooms are not serviced. No telephones are installed in the rooms, so guests must go to reception to book a taxi. Parking is available on-site in a garage or courtyard for €15 per day, but spaces are limited and cannot be reserved. The garage ramp has a steep incline. Bicycle storage is available in the secured courtyard. The hotel is pet-friendly (€5 per night), accessible for disabled guests, and has a lift. Accepted payment methods are American Express, Visa, Diners Club, Maestro, EC-Card, and MasterCard. There is no iron or kettle in the room; irons can be requested from reception.
