A Metro supermarket is a 2-minute walk away, and the University of Ottawa is 7 minutes on foot. Bus stops and the metro are easily accessible, and the airport can be reached by bus. The immediate streets around the property may feel less secure at night, but the main attractions and dining strips are safe and lively.

Most rooms feature heating and air conditioning. Private rooms include a double/single bunk bed or a double bed, a flat-screen TV, a balcony, and a kitchenette with dining area. Dormitories range from 8-bed to 6-bed configurations, with some having a private balcony or a private bathroom shared only among the dorm's occupants. Bunk beds are older - they can be squeaky and the mattresses thin - so light sleepers may prefer a private room. Some basement rooms have no windows and limited ventilation. Power outlets are available at each dorm bed. Common areas include a TV lounge with a sofa, board games, and a shared lounge. Noise from the street and from other rooms can be significant; the hostel enforces quiet hours from 22:00 to 08:00.

The communal kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals and includes free coffee, tea, and basic spices. Plates, cookware, and storage space are shared. Supermarket Metro is a 2-minute walk for groceries.
