Palace Resort is situated directly on the oceanfront, providing immediate beach access. Myrtle Beach Airport is a 5-minute drive away, and Myrtle Beach State Park is a 6-minute drive. The surrounding area offers numerous dining options within walking distance, including Gazebo Restaurant, Latitudes Grill, and Fat Man's Dream (0.5 km each). The Grand Strand's attractions - water parks, amusement parks, and over 80 golf courses - are all easily accessible. While the location is a major asset, the immediate area has been described as run-down, so guests should plan evening activities accordingly. For longer stays, the resort's proximity to shopping and dining is convenient, and walking the beach is a highlight for many.

The resort offers studio suites, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom condos, all with private bathrooms, full kitchens (refrigerator, cookware, dining table), and private balconies with ocean views. In-room amenities include flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, coffee facilities, and a safe deposit box. Units are individually owned, so décor and furnishings vary; some are well-maintained with modern features like marble countertops, while others are dated, with worn furniture, uncomfortable mattresses, and maintenance issues. For a consistent experience, higher-floor oceanfront units tend to have better views and less noise from the pool and street. Towels and linens are provided, but extra blankets and pillows may need to be requested. The compact balconies are suitable for standing or sitting briefly, but larger groups may find them cramped.

The Palace Lounge and Palace Restaurant are seasonal, operating on-site with full oceanfront views. The Palace Lounge serves cocktails. During the season, a poolside snack bar may operate on weekends. No breakfast is served on the property, and room service is not available. For meals, the full kitchen in each room allows for self-catering. Several restaurants are within a short walk, including Gazebo Restaurant, Latitudes Grill, and Fat Man's Dream, all 0.5 km away, offering a range of dining options. The lack of a permanent restaurant means guests should plan for off-season periods when on-site dining may be closed entirely.

Wellness facilities include two oceanfront outdoor pools (open all year), three outdoor whirlpools, and one indoor whirlpool. The pools are unheated in October. A sauna, steam room, and fitness centre (free) are available. The outdoor pools and hot tubs are well-maintained and directly adjacent to the beach. Guests also have access to a putting green and a game room with arcade machines (some may be out of order). The resort provides two complimentary passes per day to a seasonal water park for guests who book through the front desk; additional passes cost US$5.00 each. For a more peaceful experience, using the pools earlier in the day or during weekdays is recommended.

The resort offers a 24-hour front desk, free Wi-Fi throughout the property, and private on-site parking at US$12 per day (no reservation needed). Parking is in a garage with motion-activated lighting. Luggage storage is available. Laundry facilities are coin-operated; guests should bring quarters as the coin machine may be out of order. Meeting and banquet facilities can accommodate up to 65 people. The on-site ATM, vending machines, and safety deposit boxes are available. The no-pets policy and the minimum check-in age of 21 are enforced. Security includes 24-hour patrol, key card access, and smoke alarms. Elevator service exists but can be slow.
