PLEASANT INN, San Diego

The hotel's position near the freeway provides quick access throughout San Diego, including the University of San Diego (12 km away) and attractions like SeaWorld and Belmont Park within a 15-minute drive. The immediate area is practical for road-trippers, with several restaurants - including Buga Korean Barbecue, Los Palmitos Taco Shop, and STP Bar-N-Grill - all within a half-mile walk. A grocery store is also about 1 km away. Freeway access is immediate, which makes driving easy but means rooms facing the road can pick up street noise. Rooms on the back side of the building are noticeably quieter.

Rooms are available with one king or two queen beds, featuring a flat-screen TV, work table with two chairs, and free toiletries. The private bathrooms include a hairdryer, and some king rooms have a roll-in shower for accessibility. While rooms are generally clean and spacious enough for a comfortable stay, the property shows some age: furniture can feel dated, and soft mattresses are common. The air conditioning unit can be noisy if placed close to the bed. External corridors mean rooms open to the outside, and interior windows may not reduce road noise. Travelers sensitive to noise should request a room at the back, away from the street.

Breakfast is not available at the property, and there is no restaurant or bar on site. The nearby area provides a variety of cuisines within 0.3 to 1 km: Korean barbecue, Mexican tacos, Japanese, Middle Eastern shawarma, and American fast food. These are easily reached on foot, making meal planning straightforward without needing to drive. The room coffee machine allows for a basic morning beverage, but for a fuller breakfast, guests can walk to a nearby café or the grocery store 1 km away.

A small gym is available on the property for guests who want to maintain a workout routine during their stay. No other leisure or wellness facilities, such as a pool, spa, or sauna, are present. The lack of such amenities means guests looking for resort-style recreation will need to look elsewhere, but the central location makes San Diego's beaches and attractions easily reachable within a short drive.
