HOTEL PUERTA DE TOLEDO, Madrid

The metro station and multiple bus lines are just meters from the main entrance, providing efficient access to Puerta del Sol (a 30-minute walk, or a few stops by metro), Gran Vía (a quick metro ride on Line 5), and the Royal Palace (around 15 minutes on foot). The plaza itself is a lively square with several cafés and restaurants within 300 metres. For airport transfers, the taxi journey is about 20 minutes at a set fare. A supermarket (Mercadona and Lidl) is a 7-minute walk, and the hotel is well placed for exploring the city on foot. The area is safe and well connected, making it convenient for both sightseeing and practical errands while staying in Madrid.

Standard double rooms are compact but include air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, and a private bathroom with a hairdryer. Some rooms have large windows with openable sashes for fresh air; others have blinds that require a stick to close - check availability. Room comfort is generally high for sleeping, but noise from hallways and adjacent rooms can be an issue due to thin interior walls and heavy slamming doors; rooms facing the road may also pick up traffic noise. An excellent pillow menu is available at reception, with firm and soft options. For larger space, the Junior Suite offers a separate living room, bathrobes, slippers, and a Nespresso machine. Superior rooms add kettles, welcome water, upgraded toiletries, and a fridge. Family rooms provide two single beds plus two bunks, suitable for two adults and two children up to 10 years old.

The breakfast buffet includes a selection of hot and cold dishes such as scrambled eggs, sausages, chorizo, white cheese, beans, rice, vegetables, fruit, and drinks. Gluten-free options can be arranged if noted at the time of booking. The breakfast area has a pleasant atmosphere, though a few noise and layout issues have been noted. Several restaurants and cafés are within a 5-minute walk, including Campiello, Cafe & Te, and Restaurante Puerta de Toledo. The lobby bar is a comfortable spot for a drink or a light snack in the evening, and the coffee shop on site offers fresh pastries and coffee throughout the day. The hotel also provides a snack bar and vending machines for quick bites.
