RAHA GRAND HOTEL, Dubai

Located near Dubai International Airport, the hotel is approximately a 15-minute walk from the nearest metro station, providing direct access to city-centre attractions and business districts. The immediate area includes a hospital, small shops, and several dining options such as Atrium Cafe (0.3km) and Caravan Restaurant, Vienna Cafe, Hofbrauhaus, and The Market Place all within 0.5km. For car users, paid parking is available on site, but the garage is very tight. The neighbourhood is busy and can feel crowded; taxis and ride-hailing are the most practical alternatives for reaching the metro or other destinations.

Each room includes a flat-screen TV, electric kettle, free toiletries, ironing facilities, and a sitting area with carpeted or parquet flooring. However, many rooms show signs of heavy wear: stained upholstery, mould on walls and in air-conditioning units, broken fixtures (toilet flush, phone, TV), and occasional pest presence. Ventilation is poor, often leading to musty or smoky smells, and hot water can be unreliable. Noise from the ground-floor bar and disco is clearly audible in rooms, especially at weekends. Some guests have reported that bed sheets and towels are not changed between stays unless requested. Air-conditioning temperature adjustment does not work in some rooms.

Breakfast is served as a continental buffet with limited hot options, often consisting of only boiled eggs, bread, and hot drinks. Plastic utensils are used. The on-site restaurant provides lunch and dinner, though the quality and variety have been noted as basic. The 24-hour bar/lounge is available but can be very noisy in the evenings due to the adjacent disco. The surrounding area includes several cafes and restaurants within a short walk, such as Atrium Cafe and Vienna Cafe. Drinking water is provided in rooms but additional bottles are charged at 15AED each.

Free Wi-Fi is available but connection speed can be slow and intermittent in some rooms. The 24-hour reception desk can assist with luggage storage and basic requests, but phone in some rooms is non-functional, requiring a walk to the front desk. Paid parking costs 20AED per day and is very tight. Wheelchair access is provided. Housekeeping is performed on request but often does not include changing bed linen or thorough cleaning. Drinking water is provided upon arrival; additional requests (e.g., plates, extra water) may incur extra charges. The hotel has a no-pets policy and the entire property is non-smoking, though cigarette smoke smell is present in hallways.
