HOLIDAY INN PORTLAND - COLUMBIA RIVERFRONT BY IHG, Portland

Situated on Jantzen Beach island, the property provides direct beachfront access to the Columbia River with scenic river and bridge views. The location is convenient for accessing both Portland and Vancouver, Washington, though it is not walkable to major city attractions and requires a car or ride-share for most trips. Nearby shopping and dining are within a short drive, including Taco Bell (0.5 km), Safeway (0.5 km), and a Starbucks around the corner. A drive-through dispensary is across the street. The hotel is directly under the flight path for PDX, so aircraft noise is audible, particularly in rooms facing the bridge and on lower floors. Security patrols the grounds and parking lot, which helps keep the area safe and free of loitering.

Accommodation options range from standard double queen rooms with city views to Premium King and Premium Two Queen rooms with guaranteed river views. Each room features a microwave, refrigerator, tea and coffee maker, a safe, and HDMI access for external streaming devices. The standard rooms can feel basic and dated, with worn carpets and older furniture. Some rooms have connecting doors, which can allow noise to carry from the neighboring room. Balconies on lower floors may have cobwebs and insects, and rooms facing the parking lot or near the bridge can experience more noise. Noise insulation is inconsistent, and airplanes flying overhead are audible. For a guaranteed river view and a better experience, book a Premium room; standard double queen rooms provide a city view and a river view is not guaranteed. The hotel is large, and walking distances from the lobby to rooms can be significant.

The outdoor pool is heated and has a shallow end and a fence around it for safety. Pool towels are provided, and guests can order food from the restaurant to be delivered poolside. The deep end goes to 2.4 m. The hot tub is open daily from 9 AM to 9 PM, though it may have intermittent functionality. The fitness center is free for guests and includes cardio equipment. Other activities include free tennis (with equipment), free hiking and cycling access, and an on-site guest laundry room. The hotel also has a garden and sun terrace for relaxing. There is no spa on site.

The hotel offers a 24-hour front desk with express check-in/check-out, a concierge, and an ATM on site. Luggage storage is available free of charge. Business services include a free business centre, fax/photocopying, and paid meeting/banquet facilities. The hotel is wheelchair accessible, with accessible parking and rooms with roll-in showers available (must be requested at booking). On-site laundry and dry cleaning services are available for a fee. There are washers and dryers available for guest use. A minimarket is on site. The property has 24-hour security with CCTV in common areas, key card access, and safety deposit boxes. There is no airport shuttle, and room service is not currently available, but the restaurant offers to-go orders.
