The hostel is a 5-minute walk from a MAX light rail station, and a 15-minute walk from Portland Union Station (1 km). It is 13 km from Portland International Airport, with a bus stop (Bus 77) directly across the street. The location is within walking distance of Lan Su Chinese Garden (2 km) and the Portland Art Museum (19-minute walk). Key attractions like the Crystal Ballroom, Powell's Bookstore, and the shops and restaurants on NW 21st and NW 23rd avenues are easily reachable on foot. A Trader Joe's grocery store is a short walk away. Street noise from the vibrant neighborhood can be heard, which is worth considering for lighter sleepers.

The accommodation features private rooms with locking doors and key card access. Private rooms offer either a private bathroom or a shared bathroom with other guests on the floor. All dorms have shared bathrooms. All rooms have windows that open, and private rooms are air-conditioned. Some 4-bed dorms do not have air conditioning. Rooms are spacious and clean, with comfortable beds (mattresses are medium firmness). The carpets are a standard feature. The cafe menu features American cuisine, and the cafe also offers a happy hour special on beers, a snack bar, wine/champagne, and special diet menus on request. The surrounding area provides many more dining options within a short walk.
