HARLOW HOTEL, Portland

The hotel sits in downtown Portland, within easy walking distance of the Pearl District's restaurants, bars, and shops. Portland Union Station is 4 minutes on foot, giving direct Amtrak and MAX light rail access to the airport and city. Nearby landmarks include the Portland Art Museum and Moda Center. The immediate area includes a large park and is close to several restaurants such as Butterfly Belly Asian Cuisine (0.5 km) and Park Kitchen (0.5 km). The neighbourhood has a visible homeless population, and some streets can feel less secure, particularly at night. Car-free guests will find the location ideal; those driving should plan for paid parking in nearby garages.

Room types include double, twin, triple, and an executive suite with a king bed and a full-size pull-out sofa, suitable for a family of four. All rooms feature heating, air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with streaming services, a hairdryer, and complimentary travel-size toiletries. Some rooms have city views. The building is historic, and while most windows open, some are not operational. Noise from the street can be heard, especially in road-facing rooms. Rooms are described as clean and modern, but in-room amenities are basic: no refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, or safe. The bathroom is a highlight, with spacious walk-in showers. Blackout blinds help keep rooms dark for sleeping. The executive suite adds a sofa bed for additional sleeping space.

The fitness centre is small but well-equipped with the latest machines, suitable for a practical workout. The hotel also organizes walking tours (additional charge) and offers board games/puzzles for guests. There is no pool, spa, or hot tub. The surrounding Pearl District is ideal for walking, with parks, shops, and cultural attractions all within easy reach.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. The 24-hour front desk can assist with check-in/out and luggage storage. Express check-in/out is available. The hotel has a lift and offers wheelchair-accessible rooms with features such as a raised toilet, grab rails, and Braille signage. Bicycle storage is provided in a secure courtyard or basement. Safety features include 24-hour security, CCTV, key card access, and safety deposit boxes. Business facilities include free fax/photocopying and meeting/banquet facilities (additional charge). The hotel does not offer a regular housekeeping service unless requested. No pets are allowed. Accepted payment methods include American Express, Visa, Discover, and MasterCard.
