The hotel is in a 19th-century building on a quiet street close to public transport. Rådmansgatan station (green line) is a 1-minute walk, providing direct access to central stations and a 16-minute connection to Stockholm University via one change. The city centre is a 15-20 minute walk or a short metro ride. Numerous restaurants, cafes, and a supermarket are within a 5-minute radius. No parking is available on site, but public parking garages are nearby.

Rooms at Rex Petit are designed for short, practical stays. All rooms are without windows, relying on mechanical ventilation that can be noisy and difficult to regulate - this may cause stuffiness or plumbing odours. Bed sizes: single beds (140 cm wide), lower bunks (120 cm) and upper bunks (90 cm). The upper bunk is typically not made up (linen is provided). Storage is minimal - a few hooks and a foldable chair - and larger suitcases may need to be stored under the bed. Economy rooms come with either a private shower/toilet or a shared bathroom on the corridor. Shared bathroom floors often have only one toilet and one shower, which can result in queues and variable cleanliness. The rooms themselves are kept clean, but some surfaces (floors, walls) may show wear. An allergy-free room is available on request.

The breakfast buffet is a generous spread with hot and cold options, replenished frequently. The breakfast room can become crowded during peak hours (especially weekends), making it difficult to find a seat. Free coffee, tea, and hot water are available all day in the lobby, and occasionally free croissants are offered. Guests looking for a lighter option can get a breakfast-to-go on request. For other meals, the staff can recommend or book tables at one of the many restaurants within a 5-minute walk (Korean, Italian, sushi, pizzerias, and more).

The wellness facilities are located at Hotel Hellsten, directly opposite. The gym is free for Rex Petit guests, while the sauna can be booked for 100 SEK per session. Additionally, the sister hotel occasionally hosts free live jazz concerts open to Rex Petit guests - a unique bonus for music lovers. There is no on-site pool or spa beyond these facilities.

Reception at Rex Hotel (upstairs) is open from 07:00 to 22:00. Outside these hours, check-in and emergencies are handled by sister hotel Hellsten across the street (24-hour reception). Luggage storage is free and available before check-in and after check-out. Daily housekeeping is included, but note that the room may not be cleaned if the guest is present during the typical cleaning window. Laundry service is outsourced (no self-service machines). Security features include key card access, CCTV, and smoke alarms. Pets are not allowed, and the entire property is non-smoking. Payment can be made by American Express, Visa, Diners Club, or MasterCard; a card authorization is taken at check-in.
