Note that the nearest subway station does not have a lift, so carrying luggage up and down stairs is expected. The district has a busy nightlife and some red-light elements; noise from the street and common areas can be noticeable late into the night, and some travellers found the area seedy after dark.

Accommodation consists of shared dormitories and private rooms, but all are very small - about 5 m2 for a 4-person room. Many rooms have no windows and rely on air conditioning (free) and heating. Bunk beds are tight; mattresses may be on the floor or very close to the ceiling, and some top bunks lack power sockets. Luggage must be stored under the bed or on a small rack, leaving little floor space. Rooms in the main building are renovated (2014), but guests may be placed in an older annex with dim lighting, no Wi-Fi, and less maintained facilities. Walls are thin, and noise from adjacent rooms and the corridor is common due to code-locked doors that beep loudly. Light sleepers may find the environment challenging.

A breakfast option is provided for an additional charge of 500 JPY (approximately US$3.50), but details on what it includes are not specified. The hostel features a bar/lounge area with a few vending machines, but it is not a full-service restaurant or café. There is no cooking kitchen for guests; only a fridge, hot and cold water, and cups are available. Since food is not allowed in rooms, the common area is the only alternative, but it is partially outdoor and covered by a canopy - uncomfortable in rain. Dozens of Korean and Japanese restaurants are within a 3-minute walk, offering practical alternatives.
