SUNSET COVE BEACH RESORT, Key Largo

The resort sits on the west side of the Florida Keys, offering direct access to Florida Bay and the famous sunset views. US-1, the main highway connecting the Keys, runs alongside the property, making some units (particularly those labeled 'Diver Den' or roadside cottages) subject to continuous traffic noise. Rooms at the front of the property or near the water are significantly quieter. Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park is nearby, and deep-sea fishing, sailing, snorkeling, and boat cruises are easily accessible. Within a 2-5 minute walk are Bayside Grille, Cafe Largo, Mrs. Mac's, Snooks, CVS, and Walgreens.

Accommodations range from small, basic roadside rooms to spacious, well-equipped beachfront suites. Most rooms include air conditioning (some older units have very noisy AC units), a TV with cable channels, a private bathroom with a shower, and a small refrigerator. Many cottages and apartments feature fully equipped kitchens with a stove, microwave, and cookware. Bed configurations vary from a single futon to up to 4 beds in larger apartments. Roadside rooms (e.g., Diver Den 1, Sand Dollar, 8A) are closest to US-1 and the rear of a neighboring restaurant, and can be very noisy; beachfront rooms are significantly more spacious and quiet. Some rooms have balconies or patios. Daily housekeeping is provided.

Breakfast consists of coffee, hot tea, orange juice, and commercially wrapped pastries (such as sweet rolls or donuts), available at an outdoor kiosk. The property does not have a restaurant or bar. For more substantial meals, several well-reviewed restaurants are within a short walk, including Snook's Bayside, Bayside Grille, High Tide, and Mrs. Mac's, all serving lunch and dinner. A full grocery store (Publix) is a short drive away for guests staying in units with kitchens.

The resort has no swimming pool, spa, or fitness center. Leisure is focused on the private sandy beach and the adjacent bay. Complimentary kayaks and stand-up paddle boards are available for registered guests. A fishing dock is on-site (bring your own equipment). The property also has barbecue facilities, a picnic area, shaded tiki huts, and a garden with seating. The bay is safe for swimming and snorkeling, with calm, clear water. Cycling is another available activity. Sunsets are a daily highlight and can be enjoyed from the dock or beach.

Free private parking is available on-site but requires a reservation and is limited to one space per unit. Wi-Fi is complimentary throughout the property. Laundry facilities are available for a $2 fee per load (quarters). Daily housekeeping is included. Pets are allowed in designated rooms with a $50 per pet fee and a $100 refundable deposit; a maximum of two pets per room, no weight or breed restrictions. The property also offers fax/photocopying services and vending machines. No airport shuttle is available. Accessible parking is provided, and some rooms are accessible. The office hours are until 22:00; late check-in requires prior arrangement.
