The hostel is a 2-minute walk from Kings Cross Station, providing direct train access to the Sydney Opera House and Museum of Contemporary Art (15 minutes). The Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens are a 10-minute walk away, and Bondi Beach is a 20-minute bus ride. The immediate area is lively, with numerous bars, clubs, and restaurants within a 5-minute walk. The neighbourhood can feel less safe late at night; the hostel uses key-code access on main doors and 24-hour security, but the area is best navigated with awareness after dark.

All rooms are mixed-gender dorms sleeping 4, 6, or 8 people. Each bed is a pod with a curtain, reading light, power outlet, fan, and a large under-bed drawer locker. Bed linen, a blanket, and a towel are provided. However, rooms are small, with limited space for luggage and clothing. Noise transfer is frequent due to thin walls and windows that often do not close fully. In warmer months, rooms can get stuffy as air conditioning is limited and some windows are fixed. Ventilation is via fans. Daily housekeeping is provided, but the building is older and some areas show wear.

Self-service breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, cereal, yogurt, bread with spreads, fruit, juice, and 24-hour tea and coffee. Dinner offers one hot dish with a vegetarian option, plus a salad bar. Portions are sufficient, but the dining area is small and can become crowded during peak times, resulting in queues. Outside of serving hours, a shared kitchen is available for self-catering, though fridge and cabinet space is limited due to high occupancy. For more variety, cafes and restaurants are within a 5-minute walk.

A rooftop terrace offers partial views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, with outdoor furniture for relaxing. A smaller sunny terrace on the ground floor also has seating. Free table tennis is available indoors. The hostel occasionally runs summer events such as free BBQs. There is no pool, gym, or spa on site.

Free Wi-Fi is available in rooms. The shared kitchen includes a gas stove and fridge space, though storage can be tight. Laundry facilities are available for a charge. Luggage storage is free but unsecured, so valuables should be carried. Lockers require your own padlock. Daily housekeeping is included. The 24-hour reception can provide an invoice.
