THE CAPSULE HOTEL, Sydney

The hotel occupies level 3 on the corner of George and Liverpool Streets. Town Hall Railway Station is a 2-minute walk, providing direct access to all major lines and a 20-minute train ride to Sydney Airport. Darling Harbour and Chinatown are within 5 minutes on foot; Hyde Park, World Square, ICC Sydney Theatre, and Pitt Street Mall are all within easy walking distance. On-site parking is not available-nearby commercial garages (Wilson Parking and Secure Parking) require a short walk. The area is exceptionally walkable, with restaurants, supermarkets (Coles), and a tram stop on George Street.

Individual capsules have front or side entry, an adjustable light, power point, USB plugs, mirror, and individual air-conditioning control. Bed linen and a towel are provided (towel changes cost $3). Capsules sit in dormitory rooms of 7-16 people, each with key-card access for the room door only. The capsule door does not lock due to fire safety regulations, but each capsule includes an access-card-operated locker sized for up to a 30-inch suitcase (bring your own padlock or buy one at reception). Deluxe capsules are double the size of standard capsules but only available in mixed-gender rooms. Female-only rooms contain standard capsules only. All bathrooms and showers are unisex and shared. The building is older and the capsule mechanisms can be creaky; upper capsules are accessed via ladders that may be difficult for those with reduced mobility. Road-facing rooms may experience noise from the bar and street, particularly on weekends.

The property is situated above The Century Bar, which offers tap beers, a cocktail menu, darts, and other entertainment. The hotel itself has no restaurant and does not serve breakfast. A shared kitchen is available with a microwave, toaster, fridge, and freezer for self-catering. The surrounding streets on George Street and in Chinatown offer numerous cafés, ramen shops, sushi, and Asian fried-chicken options within a 3-minute walk, providing ample dining variety for any budget.

The hotel does not have a swimming pool or spa. Leisure facilities on the premises include a games room, darts, and a nightclub/DJ area. Free walking tours are offered. The on-site casino adds an alternative entertainment option. The bar downstairs provides darts and other entertainment for social evenings. Guests seeking more extensive leisure facilities will find many options in the surrounding city blocks.
