THE ATWOOD HOTEL SAN DIEGO - SEAWORLD/ZOO, San Diego

The Atwood sits directly off the highway in the Hotel Circle area, providing easy car access to downtown San Diego, the airport, and major attractions. Old Town San Diego State Historic Park is a 4-minute drive, while SeaWorld and the San Diego Zoo are each roughly 10 minutes by car. The property's position along the freeway means rooms fronting the road experience significant traffic noise; units at the back are noticeably quieter. The freeway proximity also makes a car nearly essential, though the Fashion Valley trolley station is close for those wanting to skip driving into the city centre. Several restaurants and a Target are within a 5-minute drive.

The Crust Kitchen is located on the property and offers American-style meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The hotel itself does not provide a free breakfast, but the restaurant provides a paid option. Several other dining choices are within a 5-minute walk, including Bunz Gourmet Burgers, Postcards American Bistro, and Valley Kitchen Restaurant. A convenience store is also situated in the complex, selling snacks and drinks. Room amenities include a microwave and refrigerator, which are useful for self-catering.

The outdoor swimming pool is heated and open from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, surrounded by cabanas and lounge furniture. Adjacent is a 10-person hot tub. The pool and hot tub are cleaned daily and have been described as well-maintained and enjoyable by many. There is no spa or wellness centre on site. For further recreation, a golf course is available within 3 km (additional charge applies).

Parking is free and available on site; no reservation is needed, but spots are not reserved. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. The front desk is open 24 hours, offering luggage storage (free), a tour desk, and fax/photocopying (charges may apply). Wired internet is available in the business centre for an additional fee. Pets are allowed in designated rooms on request for a nightly fee of $20 plus tax only. Accessibility features include wheelchair-accessible rooms and public areas, auditory guidance, raised toilets, grab rails, visual aids (Braille and tactile signs), and accessible parking. A safety deposit box is available. Family rooms are offered. No airport shuttle service is provided.
