HAMPTON INN LONG ISLAND CITY NY, New York

The hotel sits in an industrial area with auto repair shops and construction sites. The surrounding streets can feel unsafe after dark due to homeless presence and limited lighting. The F train (10-15 min walk) connects to Times Square in about 25 minutes. During the day the area is manageable, but taxi or rideshare is recommended for late returns. Nearby dining options within 0.3-1 km include Napoli Pizza and Pasta, Dutch Kills Centraal, and several pizza places. There is also an ice-skating rink nearby. The neighbourhood is close to Roosevelt Island, accessible on foot for running or walking.

Rooms are small, with the bed dominating the floor space; some lack a chair at the desk. There is no refrigerator or microwave in most rooms. Interconnected rooms are available. Daily housekeeping is provided, but thoroughness can vary. The walls are thin, and noise from hallway doors, traffic, and nearby construction is common. Request a higher floor away from the lift for a quieter stay. Air conditioning and heating can be noisy. Some rooms have carpet stains or window drafts. Overall, the accommodation is basic and functional, suitable for travellers focused on value and proximity to Manhattan rather than luxury.

The fitness room is small and suitable for light exercise only. It contains an older treadmill, a stepper, a Peloton bike, and a few free weights. There are no other leisure facilities on-site. For outdoor activity, the nearby ice-skating rink and Roosevelt Island offer alternatives. Use the fitness room for basic workouts; consider a local gym for more comprehensive training.

The front desk is staffed 24/7 and can assist with check-in, inquiries, and luggage storage. Luggage can be stored after checkout until 10 PM. Daily housekeeping is included; confirm room servicing at the front desk if specific timing is needed. No on-site parking is available; free street parking is limited and can be difficult to find, especially in the evening. There is no airport shuttle. The hotel has a lift, key card access, CCTV, and smoke alarms. Major credit cards are accepted. A refundable $100 deposit is required at check-in. Pets are not allowed.
