The StarLux is located just a one-minute walk from the boardwalk and the Wildwood sign. The beach is directly across the street, and Morey's Piers & Beachfront is a 10-minute walk away. The Wildwoods Convention Center is a six-minute walk, making the area very walkable for families and event attendees. The hotel is also close to the bus terminal for transit. Free on-site parking is available, so you can leave your car parked for the duration of your stay and access the boardwalk, restaurants, and shops on foot.

Rooms are decorated in bright colors with mid-century modern decor and include a 32-inch flat-screen TV, DVD player, retro lava lamp, iron and board, and hairdryer. All units have air conditioning, heating, and a private bathroom. Standard rooms feature two queen beds and compact layouts. Suites add a separate living area with a sofa bed and a kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, and sink. First-floor suites also include a stovetop. King Suites and Two-Bedroom Suites include a private balcony with a view of Morey's Piers. A separate vintage house behind the hotel offers very small, clean rooms with a private bathroom, ideal for budget-conscious travelers who prioritize location over space. Some rooms, particularly in the separate house, may experience noise from the shared entrance. Rooms on higher floors are quieter, while those near the road may pick up street noise. The TV uses an internet connection, which may occasionally pause during streaming.

The hotel does not guarantee breakfast for every stay, but when offered, it includes bagels, pastries, juice, coffee, and tea. The Airstream Coffee Bar, Cup of Bliss Coffee Roasters, serves specialty brewed beverages and sells coffee by the pound. Kohr Brothers, the original frozen custard stand, is located on the corner of the property. Several restaurants are within a short walk, including Abbrussese's Pizza & Ristorante (0.5 km), Marvis Diner (0.5 km), and multiple other options within 0.5 km. The hotel also offers discounts at select local restaurants when booked.

The outdoor pool is heated and open from early May through at least October. The pool area is well-maintained and features a retro design with Doo Wop music playing poolside. The outdoor hot tub operates year-round during regular office hours (9 am to 5 pm, later on weekends). The on-site 27-hole mini golf course offers three themed courses including the Beach Course with the largest artificial sand dune and castle, the Ocean Course with giant water fountains and sea creatures, and the Boardwalk Course with Wildwood memorabilia. The course is dog-friendly and shaded. The hotel also provides free bicycle rentals and complimentary beach chairs and boogie boards, allowing you to explore the boardwalk and beach without additional cost.

The hotel offers free Wi-Fi in all rooms and common areas. Parking is free and available on site without a reservation. The 24-hour front desk provides concierge service, an ATM/cash machine, and luggage storage. A guest laundry room with free washers and dryers is available. The Astro Lounge features a pool table, large-screen TV, fireplace, and games. The outdoor fire pit is a popular spot for relaxing in the evening. Safety deposit boxes are free.
