TAVISTOCK HOTEL, London

The Tavistock Hotel sits on Tavistock Square in a quiet, leafy university area, yet is within walking distance of the West End, Covent Garden, and Oxford Street. Euston Station (5 minutes), King's Cross St Pancras (15 minutes), and Russell Square underground stop (Piccadilly line) are all close. buses run from the corner to Trafalgar Square. London City Airport is 14 km away. The area is safe for walking at night and offers numerous restaurants, pubs, and a 24-hour supermarket within a few blocks.

Room types range from single to family rooms and twins, all with private bathrooms (shower over bath) and free toiletries. Some rooms have walk-in showers but must be requested in advance. The double rooms are notably narrow; twin rooms offer more floor space. All include a fan (no air conditioning), hairdryer, wardrobe, safety deposit box for laptops, and USB/USB-C charging ports. Upper-floor rooms are quieter, while street-facing rooms can be noisy from traffic and emergency sirens. The heating in winter can be very warm; opening the window only a small gap provides limited relief. The bathroom design in many rooms is tight-the toilet is separate from the shower and basin, and the door may not close fully if the toilet is in use.

Breakfast is a generous buffet served 7:00-10:00 weekdays and 7:30-10:30 weekends, featuring continental and full English/Irish options (egg, bacon, beans, pastries, yoghurt). The bar and restaurant Woolf & Whistle serves lunch and dinner with British and international menus, plus a selection of wines and champagne. The separate on-site Indian restaurant Poppadom offers halal, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options for lunch and dinner. The bar has a relaxed atmosphere and reasonable prices; service can be slow when busy. A 24-hour supermarket and several cafés are within a two-minute walk.

On-site leisure is limited to the bar, which shows live sporting events. The outdoor terrace offers a place to sit. The nearby Tavistock Square gardens provide green space. For leisure, the hotel's central location makes it easy to walk to all major attractions.
