TIMHOTEL OPERA MADELEINE, Paris

The hotel sits directly across from Gare Saint-Lazare train station and is just 180 metres from Saint-Lazare Metro station, placing multiple metro lines, RER, and bus stops right on the doorstep. Department stores such as Galeries Lafayette and Printemps are less than a five-minute walk away, as are the Opéra Garnier and Place de la Madeleine. The area is packed with restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets within a three-minute stroll. Transport to both Orly (Metro line 14) and CDG (bus) airports is straightforward, and the RER provides direct access to La Défense and the city's theme parks. The neighbourhood is lively and feels safe, though the station forecourt can attract street activity late at night.

Room categories include Single Comfort, Comfort Double, Twin, Superior Double, Superior Twin, Superior Triple, and Quadruple. Sizes vary from 12 m² (Comfort Double) to 23 m² (Quadruple). All rooms feature soundproofing, air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with international channels, tea/coffee making facilities, a safe, and a private bathroom with shower or bath. Superior rooms are slightly larger (14-17 m²) and decorated in grey and terracotta tones with bright magenta accents. Quadruple rooms uniquely offer two separate bathrooms, a major advantage for families. Some rooms have outlooks onto a courtyard, which can feel dark and unpleasant, while road-facing rooms may experience noise from the busy street below. Earlier-appointed Comfort rooms may feel dated with worn carpets and limited power outlets. The lift serves all floors but is small and can be slow during peak times. Room servicing includes daily towel changes and cleaning, though consistency has been noted as variable.

The breakfast buffet is available from Monday to Friday 6:30-10:30 and weekends 6:30-11:00, at a charge of €15 (free for children under 12). The spread includes fresh pastries, bread, eggs, omelettes, sausages, cheese, fruit, yoghurts, cereals, and hot drinks. Breakfast is served in a dedicated dining area on the ground floor. There is no on-site restaurant for lunch or dinner, but the hotel's location directly opposite Gare Saint-Lazare places dozens of restaurants, cafes, and fast-food outlets (McDonald's, KFC, Burger King) within a one-minute walk. Italian restaurant Marco Polo is 20 seconds away. For halal options, the reception can assist with recommendations.

The hotel offers free unlimited high-speed Wi-Fi throughout, a 24-hour front desk, and a lounge area with free internet and complimentary tea and coffee. Luggage storage is available free of charge and can be used before check-in or after check-out, and for splitting stays-bags are stored securely with numbered tags. A water fountain is located next to reception for refilling bottles. Irons are available on request with a deposit. Additional services include wake-up calls, fax/photocopying (fee), laundry (fee), and safety deposit boxes in rooms. Accessibility features include rooms suitable for visually impaired and deaf/hard-of-hearing guests, and a room for reduced mobility (excluding wheelchair users). There is no ground-floor room, no on-site parking, and no pets allowed. Payment is accepted via most major cards. A city tax (approx. €8.50 per person) is payable on arrival.
