TRU BY HILTON GREENSBORO, NC, Greensboro

The hotel sits off the highway, putting it near shopping areas and within a short drive of the Greensboro Coliseum. Piedmont Triad Airport is 8 km away, Wet 'n Wild Emerald Pointe is 9 km away, and Greensboro Science Center is 14 km away. Within about half a kilometre there are several dining options, including Dobros Pizza and Grill, Vino's Pizzeria, Dairy Queen, Jimmy Johns, and Kabuto Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar; Villa Rosa Italian Restaurant is 1 km away, with Marco's Pizza and Jake's Diner about 4 km away. Exterior lighting around the property is limited, so follow a well-lit route when returning on foot after dark.

Double rooms have one bed and quadruple rooms have two beds, with king rooms also available. Bathrooms use open shower layouts with grab rails and mounted soap and shampoo dispensers; water pressure and temperature can vary by room. Storage is limited to shelves rather than a full closet or drawers, and the fridge is compact. There is no in-room microwave. Beds are on the firm side with soft pillows, and blackout blinds help for daytime sleeping. Hallway and overhead noise can carry, so rooms on higher floors and away from lift and high-traffic areas are quieter. Smart TVs include streaming apps such as HBO Max, making it easy to log into personal accounts. Ironing facilities and free toiletries are provided.

Breakfast runs weekdays 6:00-9:00 and weekends 7:00-10:00, and the buffet also includes fruit, juice, oatmeal, bagels and breads. The pancake maker and kid-friendly buffet make it straightforward for families, and the breakfast area stays well stocked through service. For snacks and drinks at other times, the on-site minimarket is available, and the lobby coffee, tea and hot chocolate station is always open. Several restaurants, including pizzerias, a Japanese steakhouse and quick-service options, are within a short walk of the hotel.

The fitness centre has cardio and strength equipment, including a Peloton bike, for staying active while away from home. The lobby combines bistro tables, private booths, foosball, board games and a TV area, so there is space to relax or work outside the room. Outdoor furniture and a sun terrace extend seating in warmer weather. Because there is no pool, families and leisure travellers can plan around the games room, nearby Wet 'n Wild Emerald Pointe at 9 km, and the wider Greensboro attractions.

The property is non-smoking throughout with a designated smoking area. The 24-hour front desk can issue a physical key if a digital key is not active, and express check-in/check-out speeds arrival and departure. Free WiFi is available across the hotel, and the business centre is free to use. Parking is free on site and includes space for trucks. Accessible rooms have toilet grab rails and wheelchair access; travellers who need a roll-in shower should confirm that feature when booking. Security features include CCTV, key card access, smoke alarms and fire extinguishers. The ice machine is located on the first floor.
