HOTEL TYBEE, Tybee Island

Hotel Tybee sits directly behind a public parking lot that provides immediate beach access via four crossover ramps. The pier, Tybee Island Marine Science Center, and the main street with shops and restaurants are all a 3-minute walk away. Fort Pulaski National Monument is 10 km from the hotel, and Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) is 48 km away. No airport shuttle is available, so guests arriving without a car should plan a taxi or ride-share. On arrival, a list of nearby dining is provided; the location allows most errands and outings to be done on foot, which is especially useful since on-site options are limited.

Rooms at Hotel Tybee are spacious and equipped with a tea and coffee maker, mini-refrigerator, microwave, in-room safe, desk, and a flat-screen TV. Bed configurations are either one king bed or two full/queen beds. Ocean-view rooms are on the 3rd and 4th floors and provide an unobstructed view of the ocean; partial-ocean-view rooms on the 2nd floor look over the sand dunes but are low enough that vegetation and the parking lot may partially block the view. Inland-view rooms face the pools and tiki bar, while no-view rooms on the 1st floor face the parking lot. All rooms have a private balcony with two patio chairs. Room conditions vary: some have been recently updated, while others show signs of age and wear, such as tired furniture, rusted bathroom fixtures, or inefficient air-conditioning units. The building has two elevators per tower.

Hotel Tybee does not have a restaurant or serve breakfast. At check-in, a guide with local restaurant recommendations is provided. The seasonal outdoor Tiki Bar serves drinks and limited snacks, but it does not open until mid-afternoon. Many restaurants are within a short walk, including Sting Ray's Seafood (0.5 km), The Sand Bar, and Rock House. A grocery store is also nearby. A welcome drink token (two per room) is included upon arrival for use at the Tiki Bar.

There are two outdoor swimming pools, open seasonally from 08:00 to 22:00. The pools are not heated. They feature a fence, shallow end, sun loungers, umbrellas, and a pool bar. Pool/beach towels are provided. A splash pad is available for children. Complimentary morning beach yoga sessions are offered on the beach, and the hotel provides free bicycle hire so guests can explore the island. There is no spa or fitness room.

Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel for an additional fee (charges apply). Private on-site parking is available for US$10 per day with no reservation needed; parking for one vehicle is included in the nightly destination fee. Additional vehicles cost US$30 per night. The 24-hour front desk offers express check-in/check-out and luggage storage. An ATM is on site. The hotel has meeting/banquet facilities and a business centre. Safety features include a safety deposit box, CCTV, key card access, and smoke alarms. Accessibility features: wheelchair-accessible rooms with roll-in showers are available on the first floor. All rooms are accessible via elevator. Pets are allowed in select rooms (1st floor, north tower) for an additional fee. The hotel is entirely non-smoking; designated smoking areas exist outside.
