HOTEL VANEAU SAINT GERMAIN, Paris

The hotel sits on rue Vaneau at the crossroads of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the Latin Quarter and Montparnasse. Vaneau Metro (Line 10) is 110 metres away; Duroc (Lines 10 and 13) and Saint-Placide (Line 4) are also within 5 minutes. The Rue de Rennes shopping street and Le Bon Marché department store are just 8-12 minutes on foot. Major landmarks including the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and the Jardin du Luxembourg are reachable by a 20-30 minute walk or a short metro ride. Parc des Expositions Porte de Versailles can be reached in under 15 minutes by public transport. The neighbourhood is lively yet residential, with many bakeries, restaurants, and supermarkets immediately outside the hotel. Free filtered drinking water is available in the breakfast room for refilling bottles.

There are four categories: Single, Double, Twin and Family. Double rooms are 17 m2, while Family rooms are 37 m2 and can interconnect to accommodate up to 5 people. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms (some with bathtub, some with shower), air conditioning, flat-screen TV, free high-speed Wi-Fi, a safe, a hairdryer, bathrobes, and a courtesy tray with tea and coffee. Fair-trade toiletries are provided. Some rooms feature a balcony, but these are limited to the fifth floor and are subject to availability. The building's elevator serves floors 1-4 only; rooms on the fifth and sixth floors require climbing stairs. Some top-floor rooms have sloping ceilings that reduce headroom. Road-facing rooms can experience street noise, and double-glazing is not universal. A baby cot can be added, but no extra bed is available beyond the crib. Refrigerators are not standard in all rooms, but small items can be stored in the hotel's main fridge.

The breakfast buffet costs 15 EUR and includes fresh fruit, breads, cereal, yogurt, eggs, cheese, cold meats, pastries, juice, and hot drinks. Organic and fair-trade products are used. In the afternoon, a free Pause Gourmande with tea, coffee and viennoiseries is offered. There is no restaurant or bar on site, but the hotel's location places it within easy walking distance of many cafés, bakeries and restaurants. The area also contains two supermarkets within a few minutes' walk, and the hotel can provide cutlery and a microwave in the breakfast room for reheating takeaway food.

No wellness facilities are available on site. The surrounding 7th arrondissement offers numerous museums (Orsay, Rodin, Louvre, Maillol), the Luxembourg Gardens, and shopping at Le Bon Marché. The concierge can provide recommendations and arrange tickets or itineraries. The area is highly walkable and feels safe, even in the evening.

Key services include a 24-hour front desk with concierge, free luggage storage before check-in and after check-out, a safety deposit box in each room, and daily housekeeping. Laundry service is available at an additional cost, and an iron and ironing board can be requested.
