AVID HOTELS - SAVANNAH SOUTH - GATEWAY BY IHG, Savannah

The property sits directly off I-95, making it a convenient stop for road travelers. Savannah Mall Shopping Center is 12 km away and Hunter Golf Course 17 km. Several dining options are within walking distance, including Waffle House and Subway at 0.5 km, and Flacos House at 1 km. The parking lot is well lit and spacious. Note that rooms closest to the highway may experience some traffic noise, so a room on the opposite side or higher floor is advisable for lighter sleepers.

Built in 2020, the hotel offers a contemporary, minimalist style with no carpet in rooms, which helps maintain cleanliness. Each room includes air conditioning, heating, a mini fridge, hair dryer, and ironing board. There is no coffee machine or microwave in the room; a shared microwave is available in the breakfast area. Bed sizes vary from King to two Queens depending on availability, and the beds and pillows are frequently noted for their comfort. The walk-in showers have excellent water pressure, though some units have experienced intermittent hot water issues. Wall hooks replace traditional closets, and room size varies-some are spacious, others compact. Soundproofing between rooms and corridors is limited, so a room away from high-traffic areas is recommended for a quieter stay.

The complimentary breakfast includes Jimmy Dean sandwiches, egg bites or frittatas, cereal, fresh fruit, hard-boiled eggs, Greek yogurt, bagels, muffins, oatmeal, juice, milk, and bean-to-cup coffee. Hot items also include scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage. The breakfast area has a microwave for guest use. To-go breakfast options are available for early departures. The 24/7 lobby coffee and hot chocolate station is a popular perk. On busy mornings, the selection may run low, and seating can fill quickly. Nearby dining for other meals includes Waffle House and Subway within a 5-minute walk.

The fitness centre offers modern exercise equipment and is accessible at no extra charge. The shared lounge/TV area is open to all guests, and outdoor furniture invites fresh-air breaks. There is no pool on-site. A minimarket in the lobby sells snacks, drinks, and travel essentials around the clock.
