BALHAM LODGE, London

Balham Lodge sits on a leafy street in a safe neighbourhood, a 10-minute walk from Balham Rail Station (service to central London in about one hour) and 12-15 minutes from Balham tube station (Northern line). A bus stop on the doorstep connects to Balham centre and other parts of the city, though the bus runs every 20-30 minutes. Tooting Bec Common, adjacent to the property, provides sports facilities and a pleasant green space for walks or jogging. Balham centre offers supermarkets, pubs, restaurants, and cafes along Bedford Hill and the High Street, all about 10 minutes on foot. The lodge is not in the Congestion Charge Zone and is in a low-emission area.

Room types include standard single (single bed), deluxe single (small double bed), twin, triple, and family rooms. The family room sleeps up to 4 with a double bed and a sofa bed for two, and the bathroom is inside the room. Some twin rooms are L-shaped with single beds at opposite ends and the TV visible from only one bed; these rooms are very compact, with a tiny en suite. Room sizes vary, and road-facing or rooms 5 and 9 can be dark due to windows looking onto a brick wall. Upper-floor rooms on the 4th floor require climbing stairs - no lift is available. Rooms have heating, and some have fans for summer; noise levels from traffic or other guests can be an issue in certain rooms. The property has no rooms with a balcony.

No breakfast is available on-site, and there is no restaurant or bar. Each room has an electric kettle with tea and coffee supplies, and coffee sachets and milk are provided and restocked daily. For meals, Balham centre is a 10-minute walk away and offers a wide selection of cafes, pubs, and restaurants, including Italian, Indian, and Polish options within 1-2 km. The neighbouring Tooting Common park has a cafe serving food, drinks, and ice cream.

Balham Lodge does not have a spa, wellness centre, swimming pool, or fitness facilities. There is a garden area with seating that can be used for relaxation. Tooting Bec Common, a large park just next door, offers sports facilities and ample space for jogging, walking, or picnics. The lido and other park amenities are also within easy reach.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the building. Luggage storage is offered free of charge both before check-in and after check-out. The 24-hour front desk provides security with CCTV, safety deposit boxes, and a night porter. Laundry and fax/photocopying services are available for an additional charge.
