Paya Lebar MRT is a 15-minute walk, and the One KM shopping mall is 1 km away. Changi Airport is a 20-minute drive. The area is walkable, with numerous dining options and shops within a few minutes. For car-free travel, the bus and MRT provide efficient access to the city centre and airport. The neighbourhood is safe and well-lit.

Rooms are divided into mixed and female-only dorms ranging from 6 to 20 beds. Each bed comes with clean linens (guests make their own bed). Bunk beds lack privacy curtains, so feel less private than some hostels. Hallway light can be bright, and doors may creak. Air conditioning may be set to a schedule, occasionally leaving the room warm during ventilation breaks, when ceiling fans are used. Lockers are provided, but some are small; larger luggage can be stored in a paid storage room (S$2/day). Noise levels can vary late at night due to check-ins.

The complimentary breakfast is simple and self-service: bread with choices of spreads (e.g. peanut butter, chocolate, marmite), and pastries. Coffee and tea are available all day. The hostel does not have a restaurant, but the pantry has a microwave, toaster, and mini-oven for heating food (no cooking allowed). A vending machine offers snacks and drinks. The surrounding Joo Chiat area has a wide variety of local eateries within a 5-minute walk, including Indonesian, Thai, and Nyonya cuisine.

The common room is a social hub with a pool table, selection of board games, a well-stocked library, and guitars for use. The hostel organises free walking tours and movie nights. Bicycle and kick-scooter rentals are available for an additional charge, ideal for exploring the Joo Chiat neighbourhood and the nearby beachfront (the beach is accessible). There is no swimming pool, spa, or gym. The 24-hour lounge area is a good place to meet fellow travellers.

Wi-Fi is free in common areas; speeds may vary. The 24-hour front desk can arrange tours, tickets, and provide a detailed local guide. Luggage storage is available for S$2 per day, and the common room and showers can be used after checkout until 23:00. Laundry services are available for a fee.
