The area feels safe and is well connected for walking or public transport; taxis ranks are found at St Stephen's Green. Nearby dining includes more than seven restaurants within 300 metres, such as The Ivy Dawson Street and Marco Pierre White Steakhouse.

The hotel offers double, twin, and single rooms, plus triples and larger family rooms. Some rooms are compact, particularly the single-bed small room which is suited for one person only. All rooms have opening windows, carpeted floors, heating (centrally controlled and switches off at 11pm), an alarm clock, a work desk, and a wardrobe. Many rooms lack air conditioning, making a fan essential in warm weather. Noise from the street and crosswalk signals can affect front-facing rooms; rooms facing the rear or on higher floors tend to be quieter. Some bathrooms have heated floors. Standard bathrooms include a shower; some units are very small. Triple rooms or rooms with a twin bed and a king bed offer increased space for families. The building is older with creaking floors and some sound transfer between rooms. Parking is not on site, but two public car parks with discounted overnight parking are within a five-minute walk.

Breakfast is a buffet with both full Irish/English and continental options, available Tuesday to Sunday from 07:00-10:30. The restaurant can accommodate vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free diets on request. The Buswells Bar serves a bar-food menu including items such as Irish stew and beef & Guinness pie in a traditional pub setting with leather sofas and open fire. Dinner is available, and the bar stocks wine, champagne, and speciality cocktails. For planning: the bar food service may slow after 9pm, and the kitchen is not always open beyond that hour for new orders. Several restaurants are within a three-minute walk, including European and steakhouse options.

The fitness room includes basic equipment for a workout. There is no spa, pool, or wellness centre. The bar lounge with open fire is a cosy space for drinks and socializing, and the hotel's location means St Stephen's Green park is less than five minutes away for outdoor recreation.
